In its zeal to get tough on Sen. John McCain, who has taken the lead in the presidential race, Sen. Barack Obama's campaign released a television ad today, titled "Still," making fun of Sen. McCain for being old fashioned. In the ad, the Obama campaign says that McCain hasn't changed much since he went to Congress in 1982, to make the case that McCain's campaign does not represent change. But the campaign crossed a line when it ridiculed McCain because he "can't send an e-mail," and unwittingly embroiled itself in another controversy that will throw the campaign off message. The charge is true, McCain cannot send e-mails. But the reason, which the Obama campaign clearly did not take the time to investigate, is that because of his Vietnam War injuries, suffered at the hands of his tortuous North Vietnamese captors, Sen. McCain cannot type on a keyboard.
The Boston Globe reported the details in an article first published in March 2000.
McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain's severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes.

Not likely. He's got her safely locked up somewhere.
Senator McCain's mother, who is 96, was at the RNC convention to support her son, a feisty lady, but Obama's grandmother has been nowhere in sight since the campaign began.
She's probably being held in a padded cell somewhere in Hawaii, to keep her from talking.
Sheer genius of Karl Rove, planting those deep cover moles in the Democrat party apparatus! I wonder how many of them Obama has on his staff. Do you think Plouffe is one? What fortitude it must take to hang around barking moonbats all the time and pretend to be one yourself, all the while knowing it’s for the greater good of the GOP and the USA! I couldn’t do it. I’d go mad the first week.
(Nothing like instilling a little inward-looking paranoia in the opposition so they tear each other apart.)
Ditto every thing you wrote. RIGHT ON! Thank you.
I wonder what the losers at the DUmpster are saying?
lol
Remember the words of Sarah Palin: There is only one man who has really fought for us in this election.
**I don’t think an apology is in order ***
Insulting a vet based on his injuries requires an apology, in my view. If this person were simply disabled, not from wounds suffered from torture, would Obama owe an apology?
Sure he would.
And even more so in this case.
MOCKING the handicapped. Good Move.
You know, Joe Biden is a decent man and if he had any decency left, he’d tell Obama to find another running mate..
What Obama did is tantamount to laughing at a blind man, or belittling a guy in a wheelchair, or refusing to help a lady who fell down and can’t get up again...Obama is beyond stupid. He is clueless, heartless, and a true sadistic thug at heart..He should go back under the rock he came from...
He did Hillary a favor by not choosing her..
Great graphic, and quick. You’re good!
...and may look even older due to the time in prison camp and the torture. Those photos of his return are telling.
Salute to you, Mr. McCain.
The DUmmies don’t seem to have noticed. At least there are no threads on their main discussion page with titles hinting they think anything has gone amiss with Obama’s new ‘shaper tack’.
(Quite frankly I think Obama’s proving he’s not the sharpest tack in the box, but maybe it really is GOP moles, who knows.)
“But Men like McCain did fight and bleed and some died so your stupid arrogant campaign could ridicule the man for his injuries.”
I agree completly with your post jakerobins.
The entire Democrat party owes John McCain and all the American vets an apology. They need to stand and loudly state: “We apologize for nominating this fool. We are ashamed of our choice. We will try to do better next time. We honor your service and remain indebted to your sacrifice.”
Oh good grief!
This is even worse than calling non-computer users idiots, which he did as well.
So he mocked a war veteran who can’t type on a keyboard and called elderly and/or non-computer users idiots. Yeah Obama, keep ‘em coming!
I think we now know what Obama and Clinton talked about on their closed door meeting.
“Hey - Barak - Here is an ad I think you should run with.”
“Gee Thanks Bill. I will get right on it!”
Maybe we should all write to Bill and tell him he is too great a guy to be affiliated with Obama.
It was deliberate. The original story was published in the Boston Globe 8 years ago and was easily found with a search.
If you remember, the same thing happened with Clinton and his surrogates mocking Bob Dole and his war injuries requiring him to hold a pencil. They yukked it up over that one and skated free.
Clinton also liked to mock the seniors and made hay out of Bush I and Dole being elderly. That was in 1995.
It makes you wonder what exactly Obama and Bill discussed in that office in Harlem.
This ain’t 1995.
