KEY-STATE POLLS SHOW HOT SARAH DRAWING 'SWINGERS'
NYPOST ^

WASHINGTON - John McCain's decision to put Sarah Palin on the ticket is giving him a boost among white women in Florida and Pennsylvania - handing the Republicans new momentum in two critical swing states.

Obama is hanging onto a slim lead in Pennsylvania while expanding his lead in all-important Ohio, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll of the three battleground states.

Obama leads McCain by 48-45 in Pennsylvania - a must-win state for the Democrat.

Obama leads in Ohio, 49-44, a toss-up state that clinched election to President Bush in 2004. In August, Obama led, 44-43.

In Florida, McCain has built a lead of 50-43 after trailing in the Sunshine State during the summer.

Voters in all three states say they like McCain's selection of Sarah Palin as his running mate. The biggest margin was in Florida, 60-26, followed by Ohio, 57-30, and Pennsylvania, 55-33.

Since the veep pick, McCain's support among white women jumped four points in Ohio and five points in Pennsylvania, though it slipped by two points in Florida.

The Palin choice "seems to be very much working among white women," said pollster Peter Brown.

"The Palin choice doesn't just tell you about Palin. It tells you about McCain. It's a lot easier for McCain to say, 'I'm not the boring white guy you think I am.' "

I was just about to point that very fact out...that McCain is up by 7 in Ohio!

Yesterday on msnbc we had a so called Republican strategist that did not know that McCain was up by 7 in Ohio, according to FOX/RAS. I was yelling at the tv as she basically agreed that McCain was down by 5.

Ohio must be where Obama Hussian’s Chicago thugs have the most voter fraud planned.

It’s interesting to look at Rasmussen’s state movement table. Since August 22 there have been 14 states where the polls have moved. Every one of them have moved in favor of the GOP. The states are AK, NM, ND, MT, TN, ME, LA, CT, SD, OR, CO, WI, NC, OH.

Hubba hubba!!

I have a female friend who moved away to a different state a couple of years ago. She always voted Republican, but never got around to registering to vote since she moved. I talked to her recently and she said she is definitely registering to vote so she can vote for Sarah in Nov ... I think there is a lot of that phenomenon among females.

Actually, this would be very bad news, assuming it is true (and I'm not convinced one way or the other). If McCain loses both Ohio and Pennsylvania, he almost certainly will not win the election, even with a popular vote majority. The Electoral College is McCain's enemy this year, as much as it was Al Gore's enemy in 2000.

Often they weight the poll by their perceived split of voters (Democrat vs Republican). So if they used Cleveland as representative of Ohio, they would sample a lot more Democrats than Republicans. That's why Massachusetts always polls for a Democrat. If the polls were more grounded in reality (what's mainstream today), they would sample fewer Democrats than Republicans. People like lower taxes and less regulation.

So, when you look at the change issue, how do the candidates stack up.

It seems strange that McCain could be so far up in FL, yet trail in OH. In 2000 when it was so close in FL, Bush won OH pretty easily.

I guess the seasoned citizens and Jews in FL are probably helped McCain there.

You are right. The headline doesn’t seem to make sense when it comes to OH. If Palin is helping, why does the QU poll show Obama has gained points overall, even though his support among women has dropped?

One case where Quinnipiac was wrong regarding PA was in 2004, unfortunately. The week before the election they had Bush ahead there by 2. We all know how that turned out.

Republicans should book all of the available buses for election day to keep the Dhims from getting their travelling road show of multiple voters moving. Hundreds of buses full of people who are voting a couple of doze times adds up.

I suspect, from watching the self-imploding Obama campaign, that their internal polling shows it to be worse for them than the MSM polling is telling us. They are acting very afraid, and desperate! This is going to be rocky to the end’ but liberalism will be defeated given a fair election!
OK, so it won’t be fair...everyone knows Reps have to win 3 to 2 to make it a 50/50 race after the fraud factor is included!
