Colorado Poll: Obama 47, McCain 46
Public Policy Polling ^ | Thursday, September 11, 2008 | TTom Jensen

Barack Obama is holding onto a one point lead in Colorado, down from four in PPP's previous two polls of the state.

Colorado continues a trend PPP has found in several battleground states this week of John McCain gaining support from white voters since the two party conventions. Where he led by just two points with that demographic in August, it is now six.

Obama is winning overall in the state because of his overwhelming support from the state's growing Hispanic electorate, with which he has a 58-34 advantage. The traditionally red states of Virginia and Colorado are toss ups this year because of changing demographics in their voting populations- whether they've changed enough to flip this year could determine who our next President is.

Having the Democratic convention in Denver does not seem to have helped Obama's prospects. Only 15% of voters in the state say it affected their votes one way or the other, and within that group 9% said it made them less likely to support Obama while just 6% said it made them more likely to support him.

Disappointing that McCain has not overtaken CO in the polls by now. This may end up being the focal point of the 2008 election should OH and FL stay clearly in McCain's column.

And, we have had a bunch of liberal Californians move here and try and ruin the state - I miss what Colorado used to be.

Keep in mind PPP is a RAT polling outfit.

Things are moving in the right direction in Colorado. As the RAT convention (and all the glowing press reports on the local news that accompanied it), fades from memory, I think we will see Colorado continue to drift back home to the GOP.

McCain-Palin will win Colorado. El Paso County is gonna make the difference on November 4th!

But illegal immigrants are hard-working, mostly conservatives, family people with strong religious values...

And, the Media/Democrats have made them “victims.” And “victims” vote for Democrats.

It could, but I think the race will be decided long before CO votes close.

Fauxbama ABSOLUTELY MUST WIN PA, MI and WI.. he may be able to make up WI, with IA, and a proportion of votes out that state out west that divies them proportionally.... But He cannot make up MI or PA, and frankly I see no way Fauxbama will carry all 3 of those states, in fact, I think at best he’s going to get one.

Now, IF, Fauxbama carries all 3 of those, then CO could be the focus election night, but I think the race will be all over long before it gets to that point.

Even so, it is closer than the poll that came out yesterday. That poll (Rasmussen?) had Obama up 3 on McCain. Jefferson Country is likely to be the difference maker. I heard Palin way going to be there Monday...but I have not heard any details yet.

I don't know, we CAN'T just let it drift back WE must FIGHT for it!! TOOTH AND NAIL! If ZERO's team is just counting on the Hispanic community to vote for him, they are going to be pretty disappointed when only half show up to cast their votes.
