On the surface, at least, Barack Obama's single most impressive accomplishment has been his 1990 election to the presidency of the Harvard Law Review.
This position also provided Obama his only real executive experience as he supervised the law review's staff of 80 editors.
One has to wonder, then, why neither he nor wife Michelle emphasized this singular honor during the up-by-the-bootstraps biographical sections of their respective speeches in Denver.
In fact, neither of them so much as mentioned Obama's time at Harvard, this despite his vulnerability on the executive experience charge.
Their silence likely derives from one verifiable fact: Obama's record at Harvard was no more authentic than John Kerry's record in Vietnam.
Kerry was justifiably swift-boated because he fraudulently positioned himself as a war hero. Obama seems to have learned from Kerry.
In the age of the Internet, the less said about a dubious credential the better, and Obama's law presidency credential is dubious on any number of levels.

For starters, Obama did not do nearly well enough at his previous stop, Columbia University, to justify admission to Harvard Law.
According to the New York Sun, university spokesman Brian Connolly confirmed that Obama graduated in 1983 with a major in political science but without honors.
In the age of affirmative action and grade inflation, a minority in a relatively easy major like political science had to under-perform dramatically to avoid minimal honors. Obama apparently did just that.
The specifics we may never know. As the New York Times concedes, Obama "declined repeated requests to talk about his New York years, release his Columbia transcript or identify even a single fellow student, co-worker, roommate or friend from those years."
Would that Bristol Palin could get off so easily!

According to Wikipedia (arguably not one of the best sources): A graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he served as president of the Harvard Law Review, Obama worked as a community organizer and practiced as a civil rights attorney before serving in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004.
Seventh: The fact that he graduated magna cum laude from HLS most likely means that affirmative action did not play the central role in his admission.
There has been some discussion that the “skids were greased” for Obama by a wealthy muslim who had influence at Harvard.
I think that your questioning whether or not I know the original intent of affirmative action and then answering your own question is rather offensive and idiotic.
Conspicuous that he doesn't say Obama was the most qualified but congratulates the members on being so open minded. Wonder if there is anyone around who would talk truthfully about the meeting (lasting until 1 A.M.) at which this selection was made.
No way. but you could fake it and get to the front of the line. A guy I know did. Just said he had some black and Indian ancestors and no one checked it out.

I can't recall ever hearing about any verification process for AA beyond a cursory visual / aural examination of the candidate. Given a name like Barack Hussein Obama, they probably didn't even do that!

It's quite clear in the Obama biography on CNN (watched his and McCain's), that he did community organizing AFTER Columbia but before Harvard. He worked for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.
Since neither of the internet sites we each quoted is particularly reliable (IMO), I went to Obama’s site for his bio. In it, he does confirm that he did his “community organizing” between Columbia and Harvard.
It still raises the question about why a Columbia University graduate couldn’t find a better job than that? It’s not as though Columbia is a slouch school, either; it’s one of the prestigious Ivy League schools and the fact that, as a Columbia graduate, he couldn’t find a better job, still raises questions about his ambition and career goals.
A real leader doesn’t flounder as Nobama appears to have after graduating from Columbia. A real leader is very goal-driven and knows what they want. The time he spent as a “community organizer” indicates he still hadn’t decided what he wanted to be when he grew up.

That's what it has degenerated into but originally and the original intent was only American Blacks and Indians were allowed affirmative action benefits and it was to make up for past slavery, Jim Crowe laws and past injustices

The obvious conclusion: He's hiding something. And it ain't just a "C" report card...
Well, for one thing, William Ayers has gone from being "a friendly neighbor" to being a long-time associate and an important promoter of Obama's career. Not to mention a parallel relationship between Ayers' wife -- Bernadine Dohrn -- and Michelle Robinson, that began before she married Barack.
So, while you're at it, you might also ask: Who is handling William Ayers' puppet strings?
How do we know this? Given that:
Harvard, like a number of other top law schools, no longer ranks its law students for any purpose including a guide to recruiters.
