Obama poked fun of McCain and Palin's new "change" mantra.
"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said as the crowd cheered. "It's still a pig."
"You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink."
"We've had enough of the same old thing."
The crowd apparently took the "lipstick" line as a reference to Palin, who described the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull in a single word: "lipstick."
I think everyone is just being a little oversensitive on this one.
We have already so much to hammer him on.. why try and turn an old saying into something more?
5 days ago Sarah started talking about change that she envisions.
Obama thinks that he’s the only person that can claim “change”. Obviously he’s wrong but that doesn’t change the fact that 5 days ago something came up to attack what he believes is his birthright. That alone makes sense for the expression.
He’s says that McCain/Palin don’t really represent change and since that saying is as old as forever and most people know it.. it’s obvious that is a reasonable expression to use to describe what he thinks about McCain/Palin change. Now that doesn’t make it right or accurate. But everyone is taking this a little too far.
That’s not even close to the same thing and you know it!
Now if my wife said tomorrow she wanted to start an NFL career and she only had one leg. Than that would make sense for that expression because no matter how strong she was I don’t see any one legged NFL football players.
A little common sense please.

Show up in dress, pig snout, lipstick, with sign. Should annoy the heck out of him.
People can run with it if they want to but I don’t see where all this sensitivity is going to get them.
Any reasonable middle of the roader who understands the expression is probably NOT going to take it as he meant to call her a pig.
But it sure will fire up the base!
True. There are different 'smarts.' Book smart can be very useful, but when dealing with people, you need TACT. Obama has very little since he often says something slick or cute because he is trying to be slick and cute. That is not going over well, especially since he is pulling it on white women. So much for 'post-racial'.
The one that burned me the most was when he gave Hillary the subtle "finger" at several rallies. I don't like Hillary's ideas, but that was just a smartass move on his part. Very low-class. But he thought he was being slick. I can't believe the media didn't play that up much, if at all.
That's the kind of thing high school kids pull. The man has no judgment. Would he pull that at a meeting with Putin? The guy might jump up and rip his throat out. If not, he would look like the ass he is before the whole world.

About 300 posts on the pig lipstick alone. A lot of them women. Sarah has won their hearts, too. I hope if Hillary somehow replaces obama, they don't jump back to HRC. But that's their option.

He's accusing us of stealing a dem tactic? I'm offended. They've only hit Palin with about 100 phony outrages the last couple weeks.

I haven’t seen the video yet but it would be interesting to see the expression on his face as he said these snide remarks.
