Why I'm reversing course on John McCain

Governor Sarah Palin! Or, actually, what she signifies.
We've often stated on FR that if the Republicans would only run true conservatives then we'd win more elections. We'd keep the White House, build conservative majorities in congress, replace liberal activist judges with original intent constitutionalists, and eventually overturn Roe v Wade and begin rolling back some of the damage inflicted upon our beloved republic by the socialists and liberals.
John McCain's bold choice of the unabashed pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-liberty, small government, strong defense, fiscal conservative, Sarah Palin, signifies a return to conservatism within the Republican Party.
And the fact that Republicans and conservatives of every stripe, including the Christian right are flocking to her side and that the conservative grassroots has been re-energized literally overnight is proof that when offered the choice of truly conservative candidates, conservatives and Republicans will react accordingly.
Even though I've stated in the past that I would not vote for McCain, I will be supporting this ticket. Governor Palin is a God-fearing, kick butt conservative and I'd much rather have her advising and standing in the wings for the presidency than Joe Biden. I'll definitely pull the lever for her. And I'll do all I possibly can to keep the America-hating Marxist Barack Hussein Obama out of the White House.
Do it for Life. Do it for Liberty. Do it for our troops. Do it for America!

I’ve only spoken to 4 people about politics outside those in my immediate family. Three of those people I know but never wanted to really talk politics with them...the other was a patient in an office I work in. All 4 of them are voting for McCain...and I live in southern Connecticut!! One is even a black woman who gets angry with other blacks who assume they know who she’s voting for.

I am in the same boat. I am voting for Sarah and taking McCain by default.

Personally Im holding out for some kind of indications of what kind of cabinet hes going to pick.
He already said he was going to stock it with Dems. No surprise, really.
To: Jim Robinson
I’ve come to the exact same conclusion. Now we need to roll our sleeves up - we’ve got lots of work to do.
Go McCain/Palin!

Im hoping McCain will step aside after one term and let her have a shot at it.
I think he will have to. He'd be 80 in 2016! If he attemps to run again, it will be all for his ego and not for the good of the party. If age is a factor in this race, imagine what it would be in 2012.
To: Jim Robinson
Absolutely agree with you, sir.
Palin was a masterstroke.

LOL! Ditto here.

Hallelujah! With Palin on the ticket, all you see is the libs attcking her, not McCain.
And it keeps on coming.

It’s great judgement by McCain that had the courage to give Gov. Palin the opportunity to shine even withstanding the intense scrutiny of both parties. I salute him and I cheer on Gov. Palin. What a great team!

Palin is the future, the libs know it and that is why they are loosing their minds. She will be president one day and there is not a damned thing these people can do about it.
To: CottonBall; umgud
I'm hoping McCain resigns after the third year, Palin gets sworn in as President and goes from there.

The rest of the speech was blah. But those last few seconds had me clapping and nearly in tears.

I was happily surprised that he would be willing to pick someone that would be more popular than himself. Time will tell now if he picked her just to get our votes or really is making a statement.
