Barry Obama has slipped on his own faith by saying "John McCain has not... talked about... My muslim faith"
Of which Stephanopolous carried the water and corrected him by saying "Christian faith".
I think this is a VERY telling freudian slip by Barrack.
“In my father’s house there are many mansions...”
Oh, I agree. I don’t think we (or at any rate, the campaign) should do anything with this slip. I do think it was pretty revealing and that if he had been trying to say that McCain had never claimed he (Obama) was a Muslim, he would have said it that way.
But I think simply calling attention to how poorly spoken and confused he is has value in itself, without going over the top on the Muslim accusations.
It appeared to be heavily edited with various camera shots and closeups I’d say it was not live.
The question then is why did they leave it in?
The article yesterday about Biden campaigning in an union hall in PA where an old lady said she does not trust Obama and his religion explains it all.
This slip will be a deal breaker for a lot of unconvinced union voters in PA
You’re right. I wish I had read further before I jumped in with a stupid comment. Thanks for the clarification.
you are right but I have a feeling this one is off and running
See msg 411
No, it's probably just getting a lot of hits.
Come on people. Let’s not go all Daily Kos hysterical here. I saw the clip. We can try to read into it some sort of Freudian slip or whatever, but in the context of the conversation that was occurring (a comparison of left blogs attacking Palin versus right blogs attacking Obama) it was neither an admission nor any sort of “accidental honesty”.
My position on Omaba and his danger as an extreme left wing con man is clear.
My point in making this post is to say to all of us that we can take things out of context, try to stir up tempests in teapots, and end up looking as pathetic and stupid as Daily Kos/DU, or we can stay rational and beat this empty suit on issues and intregrity.
Is this his Harem?
He frankly did not say as a slip of the tongue or intentionally that he’s a Muslim. Anyone, who got that out of the interview is biased. Stephanopolis knew what he was talking about...and Obama clarified in the next sentence.
On the other hand, if it can be proved he is Muslim, if his original birth certificate lists him as Muslim...then YES that would be huge...
Until then, you’re barking up the wrong tree with this mental masturbation....
Absolutely! And most people are so in denial because they just can’t imagime the horror of it. There have been many other signs. They have just been ignored.
You speak the truth.
I learned, and served for Catholic Masses in LATIN before the second Ecumenical Council allowed Masses to be said in English, here in the US. I never took a Latin class in school. To this day, I can still recite the Mass in Latin. I haven't served a latin Mass since I was 9 years old. I have attended a couple of Latin Masses in the intervening 45 years.
En nominae Patrus, et Filio, Espiritus Sanctos... (and please forgive my atrocious Latin spelling, like I said, I never studied Latin).
Thank you. It’s in http://www.obsessionthemovie.com/ ?
I agree with you completely! Obama comes off as whiney in the interview and he certainly is not the great orator that he was built up to be.
Interesting, huh?
That pantload is a human gaffe machine.
Agreed...so does Barry...
"I mean, words mean something!" -- Barack Obama, Wabash Valley Fairgrounds, Sept. 6, 2008
Paisan ~ I saw it last night. National Review includes, in this weeks issue, a free DVD called Obsession. Im not sure if its available from an off-the-rack edition, but apparently, its part of an upcoming special to be broadcast by FOX.
Excellent! Thanks, I'll be looking forward to it!
Thanks to UCANSEE2 posting the link to the longer piece, allowing for context, you are correct about Obama's leaving out the adjective. The other poster here who claims it was said in the quote-unquote manner is not correct, Obama does not put in the air quotes with a tone of voice when he says Muslim -- he did misspeak, rather than make a Freudian slip. At least this time, unlike Hillary's exciting and vividly detailed description about an occurrence which never took place, this was the definition of misspoke.
