Of which Stephanopolous carried the water and corrected him by saying "Christian faith".
I think this is a VERY telling freudian slip by Barrack.

If someone asked me about my faith I would instantly come out and say “my Catholic faith”; makes me really wonder about Obamanation.

Did you ever make such a slip? Could you? I don’t think I could.
I suspect it was an honest slip, because his focus was on the first part of the statement. I don’t know if he is a practicing Muslim, but he obviously has a conscience which revealed that aspect about himself, being very aware of that issue being pertinent to the public’s perception of him.

Obama said: “What I was suggesting — you’re absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith. And you’re absolutely right that that has not come.”
The point of this issue is why he would say “MY Muslim faith”. It all boils down to the words “MY”, really. Why would he adhere himself and his person to the words “MY”?
EXAMPLE: I’m Catholic. Born and raised in Catholic schools in Puerto Rico. Imagine if I was sitting there with Steffi and we’d be engaging in a conversation in which the McCain campaign had been making remarks that I was an Episcopalian.
Why on how on Earth would I say: “What I was suggesting —you’re absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Episcopalian faith. And you’re absolutely right that that has not come.”
Why would I say “MY Episcopalian faith” if I have never espoused and or been taught in that faith? How would I consciously even say those words? There’s no Episcopalian faith in me or in my person, because I’ve never gone or been taught in an Episcopalian church.
If there’s no Episcopalian teachings, then there’s no “MY Episcopalian”. It’s that simple.
This Freudian slip is huge and that Obama uttered it is serious and dangerous.

That's a mistake I have never made before. I've made many mistakes. That's not one of 'em.
With tongue in cheek, I often respond to certain threads ("Husband accidently flushes cat down toilet." "Woman catches hair on fire using microwave oven", etc) with a curt (and I think funny...) "I HATE it when that happens."
But this is one that has never happened.
There's something else to this. No WAY do I believe otherwise.

Silvie, I think the difference is that Obama doesn’t hold any deep and sincere faith of any brand. Each one he’s taken on through the years has been to gain a political advantage, or gain some votes.
But at an early age, he received training in Islam, so he reverts to that POV under pressure.
He agreed to let Wright lead him to the Black Liberation Theology’s black Jesus, but only so he could gain an advantage from it.
He claims to be a Christian today, because he thinks it benefits him. He is clueless that real born again Christians spot him as a phony in a New York minute.
Does that help explain why he wouldn’t think of it like you or I would?
I think my first post was 80 something, after seeing the show. The responses are fantastic. People are seeing the real Obama. Just like Clinton, his ego and big mouth are his own worst enemies. Anybody pick up on the slam against Fox? I hope Roger Ailes had more in mind than just big ratings for O’Reilly. The Washington Times said his people were on the wires an hour later. FReepers were on the ball, immediately! Has anybody wondered why the network didn’t edit the taped interview? I can’t recall exactly, but several things have happened at ABC which have made me wonder if they are in the tank as deep as others. Seems like Brain Ross did a piece and Gipson did make HC look bad at that debate. The blonde on Steffy’s show seemed excited about Palin. She was on Fox with some nice things to say when Tony Snow died. Maybe it’s just wishful thinking on my part to hope that there might be some hidden allies among the MSM.
