Like McCain has done?

Talk is cheap.

You totally ignore McCain's actual position on border security.

Which position? The one he took before, or the one he took after...conservatives told him to go pound sand?

You guys of the "Trash McCain First - Country Second" crowd are trolls.

No, actually, we're not.

This is an independent conservative Web site, not a GOP-sanctioned watering hole where only propaganda is discussed and everyone toes the Party line.

Actions speak louder than words. The McCain-Kennedy Immigration Reform Bill speaks clearly of his position since he's the co-author. McCain-Kennedy establishes an illegal alien worker visa program. It is, in effect, an amnesty--

"How many legs does a dog have if you call the tail a leg? Four. Calling a tail a leg doesn't make it a leg." ..... Abraham Lincoln

How the hell can a guest worker have a visa and be "illegal" at the same time?

How the hell does establishing a guest worker program constitute "amnesty".

The U.S. had such a guest worker program during World War II and up until 1964.

Bracero Program

When I was in the Navy and stationed at Guantanamo, such a program existed for Jamaican workers. Rather than have sailors and Marines mowing lawns and slinging SOS at the mess halls, Jamaican guest workers would be brought in on yearly contracts to do such jobs in order to free up our sailors and Marines for their essential military duties.

The Jamaicans eagerly signed up for the guest worker program.

They were flown to Guantanamo by the Navy and they earned their money.

After their contract was over, they eagerly went back home to their families and friends in Jamaica to spend their money.

If they wanted more money, they signed up for another contract.

Rinse and repeat.

What, exactly, is so horrible about such a program?

By blindly calling anything and everything "amnesty" and opposing it, you are making it impossible for farms to acquire labor to harvest crops. Since the crops can't be left to rot in the fields, laws are now ignored.

In effect, your "not a single Mexican without a Green Card in the U.S." position enables the lawlessness you want to eliminate as not even Ronald Reagan supported the consequences of such an uncompromising position.

“One thing is certain in this hungry world; no regulation or law should be allowed if it results in crops rotting in the fields for lack of harvesters.” ..... Ronald Reagan, 1977

Don’t have one handy. It was ana rticle written on HER views. I’ve been wondering about what her stance is NOW. McPain does drives and sets policy ... not the VP.

When you find the article, ping me to it.

Bingo.

And that's what's a concern here, since McCain will return to being McCain as soon as this election is over, and we know exactly what that means based on his past record.

One real question to Palin is whether or not she has seen her neighborhood, city and state turned into toilets like much of the southwest US?

I doubt it and this issue may mean nothing more to her than the rest of the GOP elite.

Apparently McCain supports and/or is controlled by foreign interests. Or is he mentally ill?

What we need is a “Million American March,” where a million Americans actually show up in Washington to demand that something effective be done about illegal aliens.

Bump!

Your support for illegals is clear.

What drives your support?

If we had a President with the resolve we could oust every illegal alien.

You wanting to silence us shows the measure of your resolve as an American.

Again, it undercuts the rule of law by rewarding those who have entered our country illegally and will only encourage further illegal entry.

I don’t know if this is what you are talking about.

http://usconservatives.about.com/od/sarahpalin/tp/SarahPalinOnTheIssues.htm

I would like to hear it from Palin’s own mouth or see it on her official website.

3. Immigration
Talk show host Laura Ingraham stated on her radio show that she spoke with Palin, who told her she was against “comprehensive immigration” reform. This view is in contrats to not only Obama and Biden, but McCain, as well. This means that she might help the GOP pick up votes from those who oppose “open borders” legislation. Ingraham: “That sells a lot more than ‘my friends’ and comprehensive immigration reform. And she’s not for comprehensive reform, I can tell you that right now. She’s sick to death of this immigration nonsense in the United States.”

What I think is that McCain IS going to advocate some kind of "amnesty" and that WE, FReepers, should be emailing and letter writing his Senate office and his www.JohnMcCain.com message and his MySpace and FaceBook and every place we can get a message in with SUGGESTIONS about Illegals and Amnesty.

There's no way to send them all back unless we start pitting worker against worker and it'll become a big WAR and people will get hurt. WE have to come up with viable yes VIABLE solutions to Amnesty.

My plan is to have them repay the States for services used . . . babies born on Medicaid, children on Emergency Medicaid, Pregnancies covered by Emergency Medicaid, children on SCHIP, Food Stamps, Welfare. AND then have each person DNA'd, finger printed, photographed and checked out thoroughly. They'd have 5 years to repay what they stole by being illegal. Everyone would get an "Amnesty Card" similar to a Green Card but with a chip in it. FAST TRACK would be someone who just got here and didn't have a baby or use any Medicaid or SCHIPS or Food Stamps. They'd have to pay $1000 a person for a "fast track to amnesty" card and have 12 months to become a US Citizen. IF a FAST TRACK family did use Medicaid or SCHIPS or Food Stamps, they'd have 12 months plus 1 month extension if requested, to pay back the money and become a US Citizen. If they failed to do that, they'd lose their Fast Track status and still have what was left of their 5 years to pay their debt back to the USofA.

Anyone who left the USofA while trying to obtain Amnesty would only be allowed to leave for a business reason or to obtain official documents and could re-enter ONCE. If they tried it again, their amnesty card would be confiscated, their family located and immediately deported. They could get back in line and wait for the regular documents.

The Amnesty Card would have a chip in it so that the person could be located by satellite and if the card was tampered with, the chip would send emergency codes and then cut off so that if a person used an illegal chip at the border or other check point, it would not register and the person using it would be arrested and removed from the USofA after HIS or her DNA, fingerprints and photo was taken.

What I personally think is that IF a person HAD to become a US Citizen if they want Amnesty, half or more of the illegals would return home. They don't want to become US Citizens, they just want to work here to send money home to their families.

If enough of us suggest that Amnesty should be connected to Citizenship (again the chip in the card would signal to the satellite when the person turns over his Amnesty Card for his Naturalization Papers), and this gets put into the bill, then . . . we'll see how many illegal aliens really do want to make the USofA their Permanent Home.

In other words, you ARE VOTING FOR OBAMA.

No, not voting for McCain is NOT voting for Obama. It is what it is: It's voting for someone else.

>>How the hell can a guest worker have a visa and be “illegal” at the same time?<<

He didn’t say “guest worker.” The “Z-Visa” really was instant amnesty, and if you don’t see that, I wonder if you were paying attention last year.

>>After their contract was over, they eagerly went back home to their families and friends in Jamaica to spend their money.<<

That’s not the way it works any more. They have children here or smuggle their families in during their visa. When their visa expires, many of them stay here and patiently wait for the next amnesty, or new “guest worker” program leading to amnesty.

There have always been guest worker programs and there always will be. But the appetite for ever increasing cheap labor among certain special interests is insatiable. I do not believe that McCain’s desired programs will even make needed reforms to existing guest worker programs, such as tracking exits of visa holders.
