A week ago, most Americans had never heard of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Now, following a Vice Presidential acceptance speech viewed live by more than 40 million people, Palin is viewed favorably by 58% of American voters. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 37% hold an unfavorable view of the self-described hockey mom.
The figures include 40% with a Very Favorable opinion of Palin and 18% with a Very Unfavorable view (full demographic crosstabs are available for Premium Members). Before her acceptance speech, Palin was viewed favorably by 52%. A week ago, 67% had never heard of her.
The new data also shows significant increases in the number who say McCain made the right choice and the number who say Palin is ready to be President. Generally, John McCains choice of Palin earns slightly better reviews than Barack Obamas choice of Joe Biden.
Perhaps most stunning is the fact that Palins favorable ratings are now a point higher than either man at the top of the Presidential tickets this year. As of Friday morning, Obama and McCain are each viewed favorably by 57% of voters. Biden is viewed favorably by 48%.
A little Heart band history from wikipedia:
"By the mid-1970s the male band members were eligible to be drafted to Vietnam, so the band relocated to Vancouver, Canada.[3]"

This works for me!
Your link to rasmussen does not work. Please post the correct link.
37% unfavorable? Most likely miserable, jealous, obnoxious libs.
Obama made a huge blunder by nominating Biden—he is just a turn off to all the excitement that was generated by having a young fresh face. I don’t see how he can continue to push his slogan of “Change!” when his running mate has been a senator for almost 40 years.
I would LOVE to gather the 37% together all in one room for a little “talk” wouldn’t you?
I just checked it. It worked fine, at least for me. Anyone else have trouble with it?
She should have 98% approval!!
lol
1. This is really a statistical dead head between Palin, Obama and McCain. That Rasmussen presents it with this headline will open the study to question.
2. Its still damn good news even as a tie. The big number is that she is viewed positively by 59% of independents.
That genuinely saddens me.
bttt
Then they are morons, because the U.S. Draft ended in 1973, so by the "mid-1970s", there was no draft.
Just wait.. she’s only been in this a week.
It could get pretty damn close to that. :)
There might be some occasional glitches with our site (FR), perhaps due to the extra heavy traffic(?)
I think you have a problem between the chair and the keyboard.
Link worked for me.
Yeah.. the link worked for me.
I think somebody said they’re still working the kinks out of their new servers.
SO her speech was obviously a smashing success!
