SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin attended five colleges in six years before graduating from the University of Idaho in 1987. Federal privacy laws prohibit the schools from disclosing her grades, and none of the schools contacted by The Associated Press could say why she transferred. There was no indication any of them were contacted as part of the background investigation of Palin by presidential candidate John McCain's campaign. "Our office was not contacted by anyone," said Tania Thompson, spokeswoman for the University of Idaho in Moscow. Palin, the governor of Alaska, was born in Idaho. Her family moved when she was only a few months old to Alaska, where she was raised. She began college at Hawaii Pacific University, a private, nonsectarian school in Honolulu. She attended only as a freshman during the fall of 1982, school spokeswoman Crystale Lopez said. Then known as Sarah Louise Heath, she was in the business administration program as a full-time student, Lopez said.

OMG what a scandal. Yawn.
You have to treat this stuff the way it deserves to be treated. It’s a NON-ISSUE. Next pathetic attempt, please.
ridiculous Gyro reporter
I attended 0 colleges for six years. (also over my lifetime so far....) Do I win?
I started at NYU for communications. Then went to Kean for Comp Sci. Took some electronics and Unix courses at county. MBA at RU. Project Management Cert from Phoenix Online. etc. etc.....
But then again, I’m not as accomplished in any way shape or form as Mrs. Palin.
Psstt...AP...while in second grade, she had to sit in the corner for passing a note.
I can’t believe these idiots actually think this is worth printing.
BFD. I attended 3 schools in one year while an undergrad.
Ouch!! Best one of the day!
But does Obie Kanoobi Obama HUSSEIN pass any of those requirements to be President of The United States?
I dare say he does NOT! and the AP is hiding that basic fact!
This is what panicked desperation looks like. It brings a smile to my face.
Let them find things out. Whatever she did...Obama has done worse..AND HE'S ADMITTED IT...drugs...etc....Unbelievable.
Same count here.
I also once worked with a tech who had her BS & over 300 undergrad semester units. Her excuse was that she didn't want to get a graduate degree before her husband was able to get his.
Yea, we haven’t seen ANYTHING about his years at Columbia, have we?
Can’t figure out why this is news. I attended 4 colleges myself. It’s a royal pain whenever I have to have transcripts because I have to send for a transcript for each school.

Another far reach by another liberal journalist. Nobody is going to care abot this.
Fotunately this is all backfiring on the media so far. Rasmussen says 52% of people polled believe the media is trying to derail her candidacy.
Just read Clarence Thomas' book, and he had some interesting comments, lots of them, about quota admissions.
Seems because he put his race on his application, he became a quota admission, even though he had the grades to get in without the quota, and he feels (and has some anecdotal evidence to prove) that his Yale law degree is not worth what Bill and Hill's and Michael Medved's, non-quota admissions all, is.
He said he got a price stamp off a cheap cigar and put it on the glass front of his Yale diploma, and hung it on the wall of his office when he was with the Missouri Attorney General John Danforth's office. He says now it hangs on his home office wall with the 15 cent price tag still on it - he hasn't taken it to his Supreme Court office.
He has lots to say about the quality of public education, all of it we conservatives would affirm. He pretty much beggared himself to keep his son Jamal in private schools.
It's a thoroughly enjoyable book. I highly recommend it.
Come to think of it, I’ve attended about 5 or 6 schools over an entire scholastic period of about 8 years. I have 190 credit hours - and no degree.
I’ll figure out what I want to be when I grow up one of these days :-)
"Seven years of college down the drain.
Might as well join the f***ing Peace Corps."
After seven years in the Active Duty Army, I went to apply for college aid, and they told me I had to register for Selective Service.
SInce Obama did not need aid why should he? Just like me and you?

She went to Hawaii for one semester and either didn't like it, got homesick, or it was too expensive.
Transferred to a two year college because those are cheaper.
Transferred the Associate's to the university, just like I did, again, cheaper.
Took a semester off to go home and took a few classes while there.
Returned to Idaho and finished.
And I only counted four colleges listed.
