Small focus group but my wife and several of our friends who simply are not political people (they vote but do not pay attention on a day-to-day basis) watched last night to "find out about" Sarah Palin. All had not heard of her prior to last friday. None of them knew anything about her but were intrigued by all the press savagery coverage over the past few days. All had "low expectations". All were completely wowed by her. I have a feeling that these types of folks were, by far, the majority of viewers. And if that is the case, it was an absolute grand slam.

The MSM and Dem attacks against Palin were counterproductive. They actually increased viewership.

Can anyone find out how many watched Bidens speech?24,029,000
Though it is reaaly to our advantage that they are comparing resumes of our VP to their Presidential nominee. McCain qualifications are therefore beyond doubt.

It took Sarah Palin 7 days to achieve what took Obamadon 3 years to achieve. And she’s just getting started. Wow. BO must be pooping bricks right about now

For what its worth, I think you wuz robbed! ;-) (re: your prediction stats) 100 million had some kind of "contact" with the speech, or peraps even more like 200,000,000 whether it's news clips, front page old media headline stories, etc Bottom line, everyone knows who she is, that's a big number. AND, most of them probably liked what they heard or read.

THIS IS GREAT!!! We are not talking about a BIG difference in the numbers here, and this is a VEEP candidate just announced last week, verses the Messiah standing at his much hyped temple. LOL
The best thing? Rudy's speech was just blistering on Obama, and it had an mass audience.
Thanks dummies in the media! We appreciate the free PR!

Does this include the CSpan and PBS numbers?
Many people watched it on CSpan and PBS so they would not have to listen to the media cretins.

some commentary from the swamp-—
http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2008/09/sarah_palin_draws_obamalike_tv.html
ST. PAUL, Minn. — Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was a huge magnet for TV viewers, attracting nearly as many eyeballs as Sen. Barack Obama did on the last day of the Democratic convention, according to Nielsen, the audience-measurement agency.
Here’s a thumbnail provided by Nielsen:
The Sarah Palin speech generated 37.2 million viewers, just 1.1 million viewers short of Barack Obama’s record-breaking speech on Day 4 of the Democratic Convention. The Palin speech was carried on only six networks while the Obama speech was carried on ten (including BET, TV One, Univision and Telemundo).
Palin attracted a large female audience (19.5 million women, or 4.9 million more than Day 3 of the Democratic Convention).
Ratings for viewers 55+ (25.2) continue to be about ten times higher than for teens (2.2)
Day 3 for the GOP attracted more Hispanic viewers (1.4 million) than Day 3 of the Democratic Convention (1.2 million), even though Univision and Telemundo did not carry the speech.

This is an intentional campaign strategy to keep their number 1 (Osama) running against and justifying himself to our number 2 (Palin).I hear you. I've been saying the same thing. This process is teleporting McCain to a place far above Zerobama in the public mind, as if by a mysterious irresistable force. Some astonishing political ju-jitsu by Mac's strategists.

it is silly that libs compare our VP to their #1.
It's funny to me how we started doing that first to counter the "no experience" information. Then the LIBS started doing it, too! How stupid are they? I guess they just gave up on comparing Obama's qualifications to McCain's.

That should be telling.
Not know if C-SPAN was included, which I watched.
