I was referring to her “it’s over” comment. That one was valid...that is, “the Republican base” is not equal to “the majority of Americans.” That might have been an assumption before, but it’s over...times have changed and we must be aware of that and address it.

That’s part of it. But I really think he is trying to distinguish himself from either extreme side. Obama came across as very angry. That is exactly what the country doesn’t want.
“Independent” time. Serious, sober, service-oriented. Not mad at anyone. Not screaming. Just very aware of what needs to happen. Or something like that.

Wow! The elder Mrs. McCain is the sharpest 96-year old I’ve ever seen. She is now my role model - well, in another 40 years or so.
