What did we see tonight?
Tonight, we either saw a watershed in American politics, a tour de force, the most striking and graceful debut in our nations political life, and a national introduction that makes Barack Obamas 2004 convention address look like small potatoes or we saw what we wanted to see, and the countrys persuadable independents saw something else. Im afraid to believe. If Im wrong, I dont really know what Americans want. I know conservatives are thrilled to pieces, and they ought to be. She knocked it out of the park. I dont think she could have delivered that speech any better. Even if I hadnt suggested a line, I would say that the speech hit almost every note just right. (Did the Obama fans feel this way? Is this what their exultation feels like? Wonderful. Im glad they get to experience it too.)
My e-mail box is thrilled. Cam's Talkbackers are thrilled "you called down the thunder, and now ya have it."

It was totally unexpected.
Wow. Just wow.
Great speech, couldn’t of asked for more! Showed she can take it to Obama and Biden without breaking a sweat! Palin 2012!
She is also smart, and can appeal to Joe sixpack as well as every non-NOW woman in America
Out of the park is an understatement!
That was a Griffey Junior swing on a low and outside hanging curve!
My wife and I are so lit right now its unreal! THERE is the ‘Hope’ that everyone is talking about!!!!
Imagine her and Condi as a ticket!!!
I have the biggest smile on my face. :D They ain’t seen nothing yet. Buckle in boys it might be a bumpy ride. :)
Out of the ballpark.
10x the power of Obama Hussein.
Incredible speech; I haven’t seen anything like it.
Go Palin!
No offense to Mr Heath or Nancy Reagan but I think we just found Ronald Reagan’s unknown love child / long lost daughter!
You mean, like poop?
Awww, poor wittle wibs can't take what they've been dishing out for the last week!
Obama say's,"It's a BIG lie...
...those weren't styrofoam pillars, they were plywood."
I was thrilled by this speech. The media has done a wonderful job setting expectations for her the last few days. With the vile coverage she and her family has received, if she went out and didn’t hurl bad language toward the liberal media, it would be a great success.
Well, she did the opposite.
This was the PERFECT speech!!! Certainly the best speech I’ve heard between the two conventions!!!
My blood has been boiling during the last few days with the treatment of her family by the national press. This whole matter hits home for me a little. My wife and I have a large family like hers. We have 5 children with another on the way. We both work at the same place, and many people act as if we are freaks of some kind for having so many children. To see how the media are crucifying Palin for having a large family, it feels personal.
Speeches are great. I’ll be happier when I see the EPA and OSHA put to good use instead of creating problems.
it appears its no longer hold your nose and vote mccain. Open your eyes and vote Palin.
Palin 2012
“He thought her delivery and appearance made her very appealing (to the unwashed masses).”
Of course, the libs can’t bear to think that the speech she delivered was intellectually honest, and righteously brutal to the poseurs on the Dem ticket.
She started off well, but then...she got better. I thought I could see her growing, she seemed to get more and more confident, I could swear her voice quality was improving the longer she spoke. Very few women have a voice that is really easy on the ears in a speech but hers is good. I kept having visions of Hillary with her screeching, cackling delivery and now I don’t know what to expect. I told my wife that Hillary would do all she could behind the scenes to see McCain elected as that would be her only way to have another shot at the top job. Now she has to realize that if McCain is elected she very likely will find the Divine Sarah blocking her path. Mrs. Clinton msut be ready to kill somebody about now. I sure wouldn’t want to be Bill!
She more than surpassed all our hopes.
Another thing I saw - maybe it was just me - all the fury and frenzy about the unwed teenage couple ad nauseum. After her speech they were there up on stage with the rest of the family and that’s all it was - a family.
The most important thing was the larger picture of a really neat family and I found myself as interested in the youngest daughter, the young soldier, the baby, even the middle daughter. They’re a family.
Not saying this very well, but it was the manifestation of Sarah and Todd’s relationship. That’s what love hath wrought or can anyway.
ROFLMAO!!! Too good!
Agreed...she’ll wipe the floor with Biden!
Add my “wow” to that, please!
Palin’s got that magic — that “IT” — which only great politicians have.
“Politicians?” I meant “Leaders.”
I think Camille Paglia’s statement about Palin from last week was correct: we may be looking at the first woman President in U.S. history.
But one step at a time. Here’s hoping for a big win in November.
