She started off well, but then...she got better. I thought I could see her growing, she seemed to get more and more confident, I could swear her voice quality was improving the longer she spoke. Very few women have a voice that is really easy on the ears in a speech but hers is good. I kept having visions of Hillary with her screeching, cackling delivery and now I don’t know what to expect. I told my wife that Hillary would do all she could behind the scenes to see McCain elected as that would be her only way to have another shot at the top job. Now she has to realize that if McCain is elected she very likely will find the Divine Sarah blocking her path. Mrs. Clinton msut be ready to kill somebody about now. I sure wouldn’t want to be Bill!

When you speak in front of a crowd, especially so if you are a little nervous or feeling a little off, the start tends to be awkward. It is hard to find that grove. That sweet spot where you have fully connected with the crowd. Guilliani was in it the whole time. Thompson was in it most of the time. Palin got into it about 1/3 of the way into her speech. That is when everyone began thinking she was just having a down home conversation with them. Obama is too much of a preacher talking at everyone. And you really have to believe what you are speaking about to ever have a chance of hitting that sweet spot.
