Wow, Wow, a Thousand Times Wow

What did we see tonight?

Tonight, we either saw a watershed in American politics, a tour de force, the most striking and graceful debut in our nation’s political life, and a national introduction that makes Barack Obama’s 2004 convention address look like small potatoes… or we saw what we wanted to see, and the country’s persuadable independents saw something else. I’m afraid to believe. If I’m wrong, I don’t really know what Americans want. I know conservatives are thrilled to pieces, and they ought to be. She knocked it out of the park. I don’t think she could have delivered that speech any better. Even if I hadn’t suggested a line, I would say that the speech hit almost every note just right. (Did the Obama fans feel this way? Is this what their exultation feels like? Wonderful. I’m glad they get to experience it too.)

My e-mail box is thrilled. Cam's Talkbackers are thrilled — "you called down the thunder, and now ya have it."

Giuliani hit a home run.

Palin hit a grand slam.

Holy cow, Rudy tore the bark off of Obama and Biden!

I agree, Giuliani was probably the BEST and FUNNIEST (of the lot before Palin) and he really did factually tear Obama and Biden to shreds......

They kept showing shots of the baby getting passed from arms to arms and wanted my turn

My wife and I noticed how trig was shared with each family member.

This is clear proof that trig has been born to the right family.

The evil ones said trig was a disqualification.

The culture of death was disqualified tonight.

I absolutely LOVED the fact that, whenspeaking about special-needs children, Govero Palin did NOT promise government money, but rather promised her support as an advocate. It wasn’t checkbook politics - it was PEOPLE POLITICS!!!!

All I can say is WOW!

Did anyone notice that she wasn’t wearing a flag pin on her lapel? But she was wearing one of the two acceptable substitutes for Old Glory: a Blue Star flag pin!

As someone once said about Margaret Thatcher: “More man than you’ll ever be. More woman than you will ever have.” Joe Biden better wear his cup to the debate.

NAMSMAN sends.

My first thought was, “She doesn’t have a strong voice nor a very forceful delivery,” but then my very next thought was,
“Thank GOD she doesn’t have Shrillary’s nasal shriek!!!

Palin is unfreekin believable. Sign me up Scotty, I'd follow that woman anywhere. I understand the speech was written for her, but still, just damn.

Seriously, where the hell did she come from? What raw, natural talent. The fact that John McCain or his advisor's picked this woman is enough to make me really want to vote for this ticket. No lie.

Think Ronald Reagan 1964. You were there at the birth of the One WE have been waiting for.

I just found that speech (Reagan's) on YouTube. I had never heard it before, and it was awesome! I agree, we have witnessed the political birth of another Reagan. Sarah hit it out of the park, and over the moon!

For once I am very pleased to be wrong!

I have been predicting the demise of the McCain ticket on this board for quite a while, which I though would come to fruition with McCain picking Lieberman as a running mate.

I have wanted to and tried to like McCain for quite a while, only to be let down by him again and again. But it now seems McCain has FINALLY decided to come back home and surprise us with a truly inspired VP pick.

November is starting to look like fun after all :).

We have a mildly autistic son. The way Mrs. Palin talked about Trig brought tears to Mrs. GBC’s eyes.

As she spoke about being an advocate for special needs kids and their parents, I said to the wife "this is a demographic that no one has thought to tap". How many voters know of or are related to a child with special needs? I don't know, but maybe enough to swing an election?

That’s my succession plan as well. Who ever would have thought John McCain would, with one bold stroke, become the savior of the conservative movement!

If Joe Biden thinks he can embarrass her with a sleazy maneuver in the debates, it will be slammed back in his face.

Something I thought I would never ever do is donate a dime to Mclame, but after that speech tonight by Palin I actually went and donated money to the McCain/Palin campaign. I must be losing my mind or more likely have just witnessed the next force to push true conservatism and constitutional govt - Go Palin!!!!!!

Liberals be very afraid - you are gonna get your clock cleaned by Palin.

The Dim’s should know all about sarcasm and meanness. They invented the “politics of personal destruction” and exude sarcasm in almost all words that come out of both sides of their mouths.
