People are not leaving at all. He is saying, “It is more important to hang together as Americans”... and “only one of these candidates has actually served America instead of simply running for office”...
Not red meat... but effective bipartisanship.

Chris Matthews said it was an unusual keynote.Didnt hit on any of the issues. Guess Chrissy wasn't listening to the parts about spending, abortion, etc. Of course, when one hears what he wants to hear...

Good question, Jenny.
I don’t know the answer though, sorry.
To: STARWISE
My hardened Vietnam Marine brother just called totally bowled over by Fred’s speech. It takes a lot to get him stoked about any politician, and to receive a phone call about it is unheard of!

Lieberman is doing well. He isn’t speaking as a liberal. I think his speech is important after Obama marched out several fake Republicans saying they where supporting him. He is speaking as a seasoned statesman, not as a partisan politician.
To: tet68
Lieberman is going to surprise the democrats tonight.
He's doing fine, so far. Obama has leaned on Lieberman in the Senate, and I hope Joe slaps the "chosen one" around tonight.

The crowd is more subdued. If Joementum goes too long, there will be some empty seats. It'll pick up when he starts talking about the WOT. ...the reason he's there.

I just turned it off. It was bringing me down as well. A very ordinary, pablum-filled speech.

Calm down, hes doing FINE!I agree.
Fred was talking to us. Lieberman is talking to the RATs and Indies out there.
He is saying the kinds of things they want to hear.
To: jennyjenny
Oh sure - dems are *always* trotting out “lifelong” Republicans who have seen the light and are now voting Democrat.
*snicker*
