Blitzer & Situation Room Sink Into The Liberal Sewer ( Discusion of Gov Palin's daughter )
Strata Sphere ^ | Sep 01 2008 | AJStrata

I just watched the most amazing bit of TV in decades - I cannot wait to see the YouTube version of it. Wolf Ditzer (aka Blitzer) was hosting Gloria Berger, Bill Bennet, Donna Brazille an John King (I believe) on The Situation Room and were discussing young Bristol Palin’s (Governor Palin’s oldest daughter) pregnancy and her plans to have the baby and marry the father. At the center of this discussion was Barack Obama’s call to keep the families (and these personal decisions) off limits. But what does CNN do? They air a woman reporter who ran to Alaska questioning the entire abstinence position of Governor Palin in light of her daughter’s  pregnancy. It was pathetic.

Besides the Duh factor that abstinence works every time it is tried (pregnancies being proof of the opposite) Bill Bennet was rightfully outraged at CNN and Blitzer for bringing the Palin family’s personal issues into the debate like this. Bennett was hammering Blitzer who did not want to concede CNN crossed the line.

John King was looking just stunned and as if he was going to get sick. He wanted nothing to do with the muck raking by CNN.

Obviously, this was going to get out eventually, but how it came it was beyond the pale, and is completely outrageous. This kind of tactic needs to be condemned.

Maybe they understood that most of their conservative base would say...’whoa, none of our business...buts blessings to the young family to be.’ And leave the situation alone and private in their families. I give McCain more props for his tactful handling of this (it doesn’t affect Gov. Palin’s ability to be VP).

“Yes. Morality matters!”

Hey, R-2nd.

Did you ever have sex with a girl before you got married?

(or if you are female)

Did you ever have sex with a boy before you got married?

He’s been told this 10 times. He’s incapable of common sense.

Antics. Palin engaged in antics.

How? By not being upfront about Bristol’s condition.

Obviously Palin was told to shut up. Told to wait till after the selection is confirmed.

I like Palin. Don’t get me wrong, but she is too naive to know that she was being played by the McCain campaign.

And please. Stop showing your ignorance and stupidity as you feebly attempt to assume I don’t like women or I supported Mitt or whatever.

Obviously Palin was told to shut up.

Yes, "obviously". Kindly provide us with evidence for your "obviously". Or shut up!

I think the media treatment of this will be condemned. I think we as a society now think differently. Have you taken a child to the doctor recently? HIPAA rules and regs...isn’t a 17 year old’s reproductive health private? You can’t disclose that you gave a pt. a sample of Claritan (an OTC anti-histimine) but the media can ‘break’ that a teen is pregnant? And people arent’ going to ‘know’ this is wrong? One word...backlash!

“What I said was that for McCain and Palin not to have been honest and upfront about this was dishonest.”

So when exactly should they have ‘announced’ this, to satisfy you?

They made no attempt to hide it, as no one had even made an issue out of it up until Sarah and Todd went public with it.

They (MSM, blobbers) were making an issue of something that was entirely false (TRIG), and The Palin’s felt that they should inform the rest of the public (since people in Alaska already knew) about Bristol’s pregnancy before someone tried to make an issue out of it too.

Which they did anyway.

Ignorance and stupidity? That's cool from someone who has about 100 plus responses (on this thread alone) telling you that you are out of line w/your sanctimonious posts...please note...you are the only one admonishing me.

“It’s just a shame that McCain/Palin didn’t trust their base well enough to disclose this a week ago.”

And that’s where you keep going off the deep end, my FRiend.

A week ago, McCain hadn’t decided yet who the VP pick was.

As I’ve suggested previously. It’s unlikely he could truly be this stupid.

After reading through this thread, I must disagree with you. I think he could be. In fact, I'm sure of it.

Trolls want to keep this topic and their fake outrage on the front pages of FR. They want to give the impression to all those watching this site, that this will be a real negative for McCain, resulting in his ‘base’, literally changing their mind because of this and refusing to vote for him. Which is a joke - we are still going to vote for him and Sarah.

It's obvious from the majority of posters on FR and the likes of Dr Dobson, while initially shocked, have responded with love and understanding.

Obviously, R-2nd, you don’t know Sarah Palin very well.

It’s just a shame that McCain/Palin didn’t trust their base well enough to disclose this a week ago.

Are you some kind of moron or something? Palin wasn't even the VP nominee a week ago! Give it up you self-righteous p#@*k. Your actions have proven to me that you're not a Christian at all. True Christians have compassion for this child and her family. As I said on another post...I think you'd be far more comfortable over at DU or KOS.
