Bristol Palin's pregnancy is a "damaging revelation " that has caused Sarah Palin's image to "suffer." Says who? Says ABC News, in an article by Rick Klein and Jennifer Parker.
In Palin Pregnancy Rocks Political World, Klein and Parker report reaction from a variety of Republican and traditional-values sources. Every one, from Dr. James Dobson to Grover Norquist to Chuck Donovan of the Family Research Council to a pro-life delegate to the GOP convention who said "the fact that her daughter's keeping it and marrying the father is wonderful," had a positive reaction.
But what do they know? Declare Klein and Parker emphasis added]:
Palin's image may suffer further if more damaging revelations come out in the coming days and weeks.

Congrats on a 27 year old son, mine is 21, and a fine young man. I'm a man by the way. As to teenage girls getting pregnant out of wedlock, well it happens. never happened to me, even though as a young man it could've.
Further I will say that these were nice girls, and lastly I will say that men are just as responsible for their morals as are the girls. Especially given that the men are usually a bit older than the girls.
McCain/Palin 2008 !
“Lets see. We have a pregnant 17 year old. Adultry is mentioned in the 10 commandments
You seem to have forgotten that adultery is sex between people, one of whom is married.
Find ONE verse in the bible that explicitly prohibits sex between single people.”
______________
Good grief! That’s exactly the point I made had you bothered to read! Do you vote?
Amen, brother or sister !
“It’s unlikely the boyfriend is married—so no adultery involved.”
That was my point...
This girl’s decision to have her baby is exactly why we donate to the Women’s Resource Center in Ventura County. Every baby’s saved life is a success. I loved Dr. Dobson’s comments.
Yes I vote and no I ddin't finish the post ... crap ... mea culpa.
I hate it when that happens.
:<)
You got class.
No, would've been better if the press focused on the candidates, not their children.
My rule of thumb is that if family members avoid political comments, then they should not be subject to political examination by the press.
It’s the 21st Century. The “damaging revelation” phrase with the shocked undertone is hilarious! Most of us experienced the ‘60s and ‘70s with free love happening everywhere. And I even found this on the internet:
“An intriguing analysis by the University of Virginia found that 11% of the marriages at Plymouth Colony had births from premarital sex. The same analysis estimates that as many as 50% of the Pilgrims engaged in premarital sex. That’s not something that fits the modern image of the staid Pilgrim.”
Geez, McCain looks like a dork in that shot. Maybe he’s the one they meant to refer to as Howdy Doody the other day.
Love this article!
This should cheer everyone up and make them understand why the attacks are coming so fast and furious:

Many nice girls with good parents have gotten pregnant at 17. Happened to a good friend of mine--one of the nicest girls I ever knew. She and her baby's father have been married 53 years...and is now the father of 4!
I have read it 3 times. I’m sending a note to the writer- I’m unfamiliar with his work, but this is some of the best writing- regardless of topic- I’ve read in a long while.
It isn't damaging. It shows real people with a real problem taking care of the consequences of sin in a rational, honest, compassionate, and Christian manner.
Compare this to Obama’s proclamation that he would not want his daughters “punished” with a child, or Edward's treatment of his wife, and Clinton's wagging his finger at the TV cameras and saying, “I never had sex with that woman!”
By the way, I please that the young couple is getting married. Best of luck to them.
Agreed ~ it’s really good. The best so far.
Alaska TOUGH, that’s what the Palins are.
