but I believe at their peril.
Agreed. There are I think very few mothers of girls in this country who cannot either empathize or sympathize with Sarah Palin, or her daughter for that matter. Plus hearing she's marrying the dad and keeping the baby will be a collective sigh of relief, then the next thought will be what does the father look like and will the baby be cute, will they have the baby shower at the White House, etc etc...
In fact, conservative talk radio can do everyone a favor by turning the conversation to the fun and happy things about babies and parenting. If she has time I think the daughter could even have a blog where folks can keep up with baby news. They can also play up the angle that little Trig will be an uncle.
Babies are precious. Having a baby should never be anything but good news.

...and to bash the Palins in particular as trailer trash. The first person I've seen connect the Palins with the term "trailer trash" over this situation is you.

Frankly, I was going to vote Barr before the Palin pick. The pregnancy issue doesn't change my mind about Palin, or send me back to Barr. I have zero issue with Palin right now, or her daughter. That's all private non-political.
But the reaction and timding doesn't give me any confidence at all in the McCain camp as an organization.
People here who are going after Palin, her family, or think this changes her ability to serve as a good Vice President are silly.
But the McCain camp does need to get its act together on handling stuff.

>>>>>You are making me sick. Your sickness is misplaced. It should McCain and Palin who are making you sick. Don't blame me.
People who choose to blow this off, as though its business as usual, don't understand the first thing about politics.

The left is so evil and unGodly and will stop at nothing to get their culture of death stamped firm on America that and their obsession with identity politic and their derision for free enterprise constitutes what they are

Just what electoral votes that McCain doesn’t already have were the evangelical extremists going to deliver?
The fight is for moderate independent women. It’s not for bible thumpers from Oklahoma. Those EVs are already won.

there probably going to attack McCain and Palin for the timing of the announcement while most of the media is focused on Gustav. McCain and Palin created Gustav to be the distraction

family values means more than having a perfect family
it means working together through adversity
staying together
supporting each other

If she’s five months pregnant, there is a strong possibility that she could deliver before the election.
Americans absolutely obsess over “baby watch” stories (People magazine will offer her millions for a cover, I’m sure).
I say we send her out on the campaign trail!!!

“As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support,” the Palins said.”
And that is today’s example of what makes Gov. Palin a remarkably well-adjusted person, a terrifc parent, and a great role model.

I don’t know about evangelicals, but I think that many voters, whatever they think about abortion, would be happier about this situation if the daughter were giving up the baby for adoption.

I am a Born Again Evangelical who has four daughters ages 34 - 17. One is married and one is getting married in four months. Guess What? These things happen to best of us. I am simply thankful the Lord has not presented me with this situation.
