ST. PAUL -- The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

Some of them are just trolls trying to poison the well.
The rest are misguided, and a little self-righteous.
No problem. Thankfully it was John McCain who got to make the decision. He made a much better pick than I would have.
Hopefully the "girl", along with her entire family, are happy and excited about an upcoming wedding and the birth of a precious child.
I smile at God's plan.
I've been pointing out the fallacy of ignoring or celebrating unwed teen pregnancy. Also, pointing out McCain's poor judgment in handling this serious issue.
OTOH. You've been whining the whole thread, throwing temper tantrums. Along with needlessly bashing Reagan. You don't sound like a conservative to me. You sound like a malcontent of the first order.
I have had more than one friend who wore the wedding band of a deceased parent. I think you are grasping at straws.
Well said, and I join you in blessing the family AND McCain for “not flinching”!
But aren't the Palins and their daughter addressing it exactly as it should be addressed?
Hope those low-lifes are satisfied, and that their teenage daughters give them similar grief.
A lot of lets pull Palin and run Romney. I would have to throw up over that one.

Yes it’s some of the rabid RomneyBots who are condemning Bristol...
40 years of pushing abortion as an adult who knows better is a virtue by a “saint”
But a little silly teenager must be punished
for having sex before marriage...
and getting pregnant...
and not hiding the fact by murdering her baby through abortion...
So let’s disqualify someone in the generation next to Bristol’s from being the VP
BTW someone in the generation next to Romney’s in his family had sex before marriage
and got pregnant
and had an abortion
she died...
Not condemning the poor girl...it’s a tragedy...
But the RomneyBots might want to think about that...
Romney is disqualified too...
If we use the RomneyBot rules...
Nobody's celebrating teen pregnancy, that's just silly.
And, again, she's not going to be an unwed mother.
I have family members who got pregnant outside of marriage, and they are raising the babies responsibly, with Christian values, and the babies are gifts to us all. Things happen, and this makes the Palins a family like so many others, and very real.
5 minutes of watching CNN and I went over to JohnMcCain.com and made another donation.

The other oft used comment in this thread is it's "private family matter".
No it's not. The huge rate of teenage and adult out of wedlock pregnancies is killing this country. I'm glad the Palins daughter is getting married but they are in the minority (getting married after the baby is conceived that is).
Palin/McCain 2008.
Oh and uh
FLAME AWAY
ROFLMBO
Reagan and Newt both suffered from divorce. They lacked wisdom, obviously. So once again, please allow me to bring up Solomon, the wisest sinner there ever was. He fell short too. I mean, who could lead us? God? That would be great. I ask Him to lead us all the time, but for some reason, He never says yes. Come to think of it, I have trouble understanding Him.

You don't. Instead you hurl nothing but insults at me and refuse to answer who your VP pick would be. You question McCain's judgment about the pick (and by extension in general). You sow discord so the media can say that conservatives are fractured over this personal matter.
They are not. Only you and a few newbies and a couple of otherwise rational posters who will come around. So put up or shut up: what should McCain have done?
“This is a disease upon our nation and it needs to be addressed.”
Yes it is a problem. Disease is not the right word. But this family is an example - they stick together, keep the baby, and marry. That’s commendable. They’ve done what they can do. So enough of the crucifying them.
We have an election to win BTW.
Yes they are and I'm happy they are getting mrried but the fact is the majority of out of wedlock birth parents do not get married.
Yes we do. Until last Friday I was not going to vote for a Presidential candidate. I'm now going to vote for McCain/Palin but only because Palin is on the ticket.
