ST. PAUL -- The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

OK, so? At least she's marrying the father, unlike some other girls
According to the story I read, McCain did know and did not think it was relevant.
McCain knew and heroically said it did not disqualify her in any way [it would have been a politically easy choice to go the other way]
Obamarama can get his “PUNISHED with a baby” comment thrown in his face
Conservatives will point out the liberal hypocrisy (yet again) on this issue...
It is sad for the child buy i am glad she IS DOING THE RIGHT THING (having the baby and marrying the father!!!)
Well said and true
You're viewing this through your own filters. The reality is that it'll blow over in about 24-48 hours. In a couple weeks the Palins can appear on some talk show to talk about how good people sometimes make mistakes, but it's how we react to them that defines us. The net result will be to have no impact whatsoever on the race.
Well at least some smart people are choosing to breed.
Let me know when you get around to answering my question, too.
Someone on FNC just said “this is a private family matter. Let’s hope it remains so”.
That’s what it should be, but I doubt the lefties will practice what they’ve preached.

“Helluva job vetting there, McCain. LOL”
ummm....McCain knew.
next?
The McCain Camp needs to control the events of this story, especially with the father of the child. No parent is immune to the goings-on of their teenage children.. once the hormone ripe kids walk out the door, they do their own thing.. good or bad.
The positive side is what she does... have the child or abort. Unlike the Obama solution, I’m guessing she will have the child and make do with her decision. Talk about real life situations.
Amen.
This is very sad, and very unfortunate, yet let him who is without sin cast the first stone!
Nah, not when she was just under consideration, but when she was picked I think announcing it would have been a good thing to do. Oh well, it’s out and acknowledged within three days anyway. Let’s see how soon the media can stop yapping about it.
How do you know they didn’t use a condom? You do realize they’re not 100% effective. If they bash the Palins has white trash, they will most assuredly lose the election.
This is Obambi's moderus operandi. He digs into his opposition's personal lives to uncover scandal or perceived scandal in an attempt to get them to resign and he runs un-opposed.
This worked in the IL Senate race. Obami got a court order to 'unseal' the divorce records of his opponent. Things the opponent didn't want his son to know about, had no bearing on the campaign, or the opponent's ability to be a Senator, but that meant nothing to Obami. In the end the opponent with-drew from the race rather than have certain issues revealed publicly.
This story beginning with Sarah Palin having a fake pregnancy moving into the revelation that Bristol is pregant today has Obami's snake prints all over it. I'm glad Sarah came out today swinging pretty much giving the finger to Obamanation "I'm not backing down." Good for Palin.
bump
I suppose we would all love it if our children followed our teachings.
However, I know enough children of good parents to know that children have a mind of their own, even children who are good Christians and come from good Christian families.
It’s a shame that the poor girl has to go through this publicly. Now we’ll here the democrats say how selfish Palin was to put her daughter through this — when in fact it was their own blood-sucking supporters who pushed this.
On the other hand, the world would have known in 4 months anyway — it wasn’t the kind of secret you take to the grave, unless you are Barack Obama making sure your children aren’t punished with children.
This is an incredible contrast between Obama and Palin. Her daughter is accepting responsibility for her actions and providing the best environment for her baby, which is a family with two parents. It’s not about being punished with a baby, it’s about being responsible.
I’m sorry, I wasn’t aware that Bristol Palin was the VP pick...isn’t she 18 years too young to serve as VP?
