We’re not electing Palin’s daughter. On the other hand I would be willing to bet that Obama will receive the majority of the votes from people who were born out of wedlock.

Team Obama got what they wanted out of this story. They threw out the fake story and knew that McCain campaign would have to address the pregnancy. Is this any different that what he has done for years in Chicago?? And look at the feeding frenzy here!

“Again, this isn’t a positive event for McCain’s campaign and its not gonna help get him elected. “
You mean like when Bubba was being impeached over lying about Lewinski and his public approval ratings shot up. People felt he was being ganged up on to some extent and rallied behind him. I think (normal) people will do that same things hear for Palin in this case. Between the media fascination with this pregnancy, the other phony preggo story, 20 year old DUI. The media thinks they are hurting Palin. I think this will backfire on them. We shall see (probably in polls by end of week).

Here in Arkansas we had a Senator with the #1 Conservative voting record. He could be counted on 100% to vote conservative.
But he divorced his wife and married an aide.
People turned on him and refused to support him. In his place was elected Mark Pryor. You will never get Mark Pryor out of that Senate seat. He will have that seat until he is an old man.
So those people traded a 100% conservative voting record for a lifetime of liberal votes against conservative Supreme Court justices and conservative causes....so they could feel personally justified in that one election.
There are certain people who are dogmatic and are not pragmatic and care more about themselves feeling righteous than having real events affected positively.

Actually, this is not a good thing. It is a statement that some of those familly values that Sarah is advancing could not even be passed along to her own kid. I still like Palin, but, if true, this is not good. I see your point, but did you always listen to your parents at 16 or 17? I'm in my 30's now, but I still remember those days. My parents had the same family values that the Palins have. I'm quite conservative myself and was even back then, but that doesn't mean that I was a saint.
The bad news is that this changes a lot of things, particulary with time and money. The good news is that a baby is also one of the greatest blessings on earth, especially if there is a good support structure.

I agree it is not in itself a positive event - possibly the first thing I am in agreement with you about. In itself, I think it is probably fairly neutral. However, I think you greatly overestimate the negative aspects, and are completely ignoring the way this demonstrates character of Palin and McCain in ways that could prove positive.

Only 4% of Americans believe it’s proper for a baby to be born legitimate? I hope you have a source for that dreadful statistic.

Sorry dude you are wrong. Fewer births in the free world= fewer people to uphold and sustain the free world, fewer tax payers, fewer doctors, fewer firefighters etc.

WE ARE LIVING IN AN ERA OF A CATASTROPHIC COLLAPSE IN THE NUMBERS OF INTELLIGENT PEOPLE THROUGHOUT THE CIVILIZED WORLD, AND THE COLLAPSE IS ACCELERATING. ROFL.
What you call intelligent is a mental perversion.
People, by nature, want to hunt, fish, and gather for a living.
But the world is too overcrowded for people to live like that any more.
So now we expect them to like working in unnatural jobs, jobs antagonistic to their mental and physical nature, and we call them lazy or stupid if they don't want to endure such torture.
How perverse.

I have a new slogan for her!
“Palin-Glass ceilings, not glass houses!”
Maybe that will shut the Left up?

there are only a couple of holier-than-thou types - who are no doubt paragons of perfection in their private lives and surrounded in their families only by other paragons of perfectionKinda like the Messiah Lord Barama himself ;)
