Fine. I'll go away. Too bad you find it too much of constraint to state your opinion without personal attacks.

Don't you see that's what we do here, there is better that a 50/50 chance that we got a good conservative VP because of the points we make here. Yes. Being vocal probably had a lot to do with McCain making a decent pick. So why is it that everyone is trying to silence anyone from saying anything not entirely favorable to McCain (as I did in pointing out his leftward drift this morning regarding support of Minimum Wage legislation)?
But going third party is a sure path to defeat and for me there is too much at stake to give it over to obummah and the commies. I guess I am just pragmatic that way.
I'm in California. My vote makes no difference to McCain, anyway. I haven't decided how I will vote although it won't be for the Dem, Green, or other leftist parties.
Also I am a conservative Republican and no liberal or rino will ever take over my party as long as I can muster up enough energy to fight them. Maybe you should try it.
Well, I've been fighting that for ages, including fighting the liberal RINO celebrity that many fawning freepers helped elect as California Governor. Question: Who do you think are RINOs? Schwarzenegger? Bloomberg? Do you consider McCain a RINO?

I would say that Palin's inquiry/comments showed good judgment and commonsense. She would be giving up the job of governor for VP. If McCain didn't promise here a worthwhile job, she would be a fool to take it. I assume McCain assured her that he would delegate important responsibilities to her. I would make a wild guess that it would include keeping her up to date on National Security intelligence and strategy so that she is ready to take over if necessary in a pinch or run on her own in four years (maybe 8).
The fact that these little pants crappers seem so smug like this is something to beat her over the head with shows how little they have to use against her and how little they understand the actual situation IMO.

I’ve been voting for nearly forty years now, and working for candidates for most of those forty years. I would have voted and worked for NO ONE during those years if I had followed this “philosophy” of you just expressed.

I agreed with a post. You did not receive a post from me nor did I mention you in a post. That makes it your problem, not mine. Ah, yes. Now I see the difference. /sarcasm
And an apology would have been so simple. :-(

No problem. Just want to keep the thread on-topic. That’s why I directed my comments to both sides.

"The Barracuda and the Maverick will take on the Messiah and the Mouth" Very Good!
I went to a Hillary site (where I also "borrowed" my NEW tagline), which was posted on another FR thread.
The Hillary Is 44 thread is titled "Funeral In Denver", and I stayed for oh, approx. 923 posts (it is now 1066)!!! It was worth EVERY SECOND of the visit!!
If any of my fellow FReepers have the time, go to the link and see what is in store for the Obamassiah!!
I am STILL SMILING!! Obamassiah and the DNC made BIG mistake in not picking Hillary for VP after all the shennanigans(sp?) durring the dem primary STARTING WITH THE CAUCUSES!!!!!
I found out so much info that I would not have probably seen if a fellow FReeper hadn't posted the link!!
Seriously, if anyone who reads this has the time to go and read the posts, IMHO, you WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!
Son House: I will now get back to why I initially wanted to post to you.
THIS was one of the other posts at: http://www.hillaryis44.org/?p=723 (that your post made me think of):

If your not voting why are you on this board? Stand by your convictions and sit out the election which includes campaigning for not voting. You have given up your right to an opinion after as well as before.
There are two legitimate candidates so get over it.

No Ive got you pegged. You are one of those angry 100%ers.
It seeps out of your pores in every post you make.
Let's see, you refuse to talk about this issues, accuse and falsely label others of being trolls, Ron Paul supporters, John Birchers, 1oo%'ers, and all sort's of other crap because they don't see your viewpoint.
How's that working for you?
Do you think you are even close to convincing anyone of your point?
Did you think this would shut down a relevant discussion of the issues where John McCain has staked out positions that either lacked principle, went against his party, were unconservative, or were just downright immoral?
I, for one, will happily vote for, donate my money and time to John McCain when he picks the morally, ethically, and principled position on the following issues:
1. Amnesty for Illegal Aliens
2. Carbon Cap-and-Trade system
3. Embryonic Stem Cell Research
It really is a short list and picking the correct positions on these issues would be both morally and principally correct. It would also show the kind of leadership, we as conservatives, expect of our commander-in-chief.

As I may have indicated to you once before, I decided in 1992 that the Pub party was in need of serious disciplining. Accordingly, I went third party and got the Clintons for my efforts. I remain very wary of McCain, but the Palin pick cannot be ignored. If he is lying about selecting her because she represents what the GOP needs, it would be a calamity.
But there often comes a time in political affairs, IMHO, when you have to take a calculated risk. I agree with Morgan's approach; Palin could be one of the first steps in the long road back to commonsense. Whatever, there is no question that McCain's VP candidate is driving the Rats up the wall. Eleanor Clift was even more rabid than usual today on the McLaughlin Group.
Everyone, have a safe and enjoyable Labor Day.

Well, you lost the fight when McCain won the nomination. All you have to do is take a look at McCain's current positions on several key issues and look at his past.
