Sarah Palin: Unknown Nationally, Popular in Alaska
Rasmussen Reports ^ | August 29, 2008

Posted on 08/29/2008 5:23:53 PM PDT by Clintonfatigued

One measure of how well John McCain kept his choice of a vice presidential running mate secret is that 67% of voters nationwide have no opinion one way or the other about Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that she is unknown to 78% of women.

In fact, among 10 leading Republicans included in the poll, Palin’s name was the least recognized.

However, in Alaska, the 44-year old Governor and hockey mom earns good or excellent ratings from 64% of voters statewide. Just 14% say she is doing a poor job. In a state whose senior Republican Senator has been indicted for ethical violations, 84% say Palin is at least as ethical as most politicians. Most (51%) say she’s more ethical than her peers (full demographic crosstabs available for Premium Members).

I already know the answer, hon. You didn’t. You’re just bloviating like a drunken troll. Have a little respect for yourself — call it a night, get some sleep, sober up, it’ll be better in the morning.

Who do you think you are to talk to me like that? You don’t have anything rational to add to the discussion but still you keep trying. BTW, your silly insults aren’t as cute as you seem to believe they are, Toots. Guess I can’t expect much more in the way of logic from a person who calls themselves a nervous tick. LOL!

HUH? have you actually read your own inflammatory posts to me and everyone else? Dish it out, can’t you... spooning it in is apparently “above your paygrade”. You’d make a great Obama syncophant.

>> You don’t have anything rational to add to the discussion but still you keep trying.

Well, actually, I did have something rational to add: the links to her speech. That’s why I asked (nicely) if you had seen them, so I could offer them to you if you hadn’t.

Forget it now. Like you said, hon: “adios”.

Sarah Palin is a FABULOUS pick for VP. A real breath of fresh air.

Palin is a self-admitted Feminist. So much for the fresh air...

****

Is that all you came away with from the interview Palin gave at noon?

To me she is a straight shooter no pretention, just clean and clear cut.

I guess the feminist version on the right don’t appeal to you!

Call me crazy but the “hockey mom” angle might help in Minnesota.

“Call me crazy but the “hockey mom” angle might help in Minnesota.”

You may very well be correct.

In a few weeks, we will know if Palin was the best choice. Pawlenty is a low risk/low reward candidate. Palin is a high risk/ high reward candidate. So far, she has energized disgruntled conservatives to McCain. Pawlenty and Romney would have been able to do such a thing.

**One thing I’m hoping for is that Palin helps McCain in Oregon and Washington state.**

I think she will. Lots of commercial fishing here. They will identify with her husband, Todd.

There’s a huge difference between a conservative feminist and a liberal feminist.

She might also help in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Colorado.

I think her and her husban should be camped out in Michigan, Ohio, Pa and a little New Hampshire. Their blue collar union thing along with their hunting is gonna go over real well in areas of those states.

I agree. I was just thinking that John McCain picked a perfect candidate to help him win Ohio. There will be women who secretly liked Hillary because they grew up feeling frustrated at never having a woman president, but they really didn't identify with Hillary's life and policies. Governor Palin is much more "one of them" but still an accomplished woman who is qualified to hold high office.

Besides his mouth?”

I can’t see that he’s ever run anything...does running a campaign ripe with contributors with terrorist ties, dirty money, dirty dealings, etc. count?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Forget it now? Because YOU say it’s time to forget it? You just love telling me what to do and when to do it. Uh-uh.
FYI a difference in opinion doesn’t make me an Obama “synocphant” (did you even notice that didn’t pass the spell checker? LOL).
A difference of opinion doesn’t mean I’m being nasty to you or whatever either. Instead of telling me what to do, perhaps you should look at your own responses to me which were more dictatorial in nature and less “nice” than you seem to view them. In particular look at the way you initiated your “hon” remarks to me. Not nice at all.
Yes, I did say adios but that was before my firewall and anti-virus program picked up a hacking attempt right after my exchanges with you. I’m not saying it was you — I’m just commenting on the *timing* of it. If it was you, you’d better watch your step.
