Wow. Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is John McCain's pick for Vice-President. Folks, this is s close to a game changer as you can get.
Let me give you some instant reaction. I can tell you that The Brody File has been talking to multiple sources in the conservative Evangelical community and the reaction has been EXTREMELY POSITIVE. As a matter of fact, I am told that when conservative leaders heard the news this morning at a meeting at the Council for National Policy, one attendee told me that there is "nothing but elation. People are giddy. They are energized and they now believe that in fact this campaign has the ability to win this election."

If McCain listens to Palin and learns how to be a hard as nails, kick butt conservative, I’ll vote for them.
So a woman with children should know their place is at home, eh?
Dude....get ready to be pulverized by the handbags of dozens of perfectly competent and qualified FRepettes, and the guys who love, support & respect 'em.
You are WAY out of line.
McCain just won me over. I wasn’t sure if I could bring myself to vote for him or not. However, I am now going to enthusiastically support this ticket and contribute money as well.
Unfortunately I think this will cost McCain the election - not something I wanted to happen
I think the Clinton's are unhappy too because it means Obama's chances got better and Hellary will not have her chance in '12
“After Ehud died, the Israelites once again did evil in the eyes of the LORD.
2. So the LORD sold them into the hands of Jabin, a king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor. The commander of his army was Sisera, who lived in Harosheth Haggoyim.
3. Because he had nine hundred iron chariots and had cruelly oppressed the Israelites for twenty years, they cried to the LORD for help.
4. Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, was leading Israel at that time.
5. She held court under the Palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites came to her to have their disputes decided.
6. She sent for Barak son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali and said to him, “The LORD, the God of Israel, commands you: `Go, take with you ten thousand men of Naphtali and Zebulun and lead the way to Mount Tabor.
7. I will lure Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his troops to the Kishon River and give him into your hands.’”
8. Barak said to her, “If you go with me, I will go; but if you don’t go with me, I won’t go.”
9. “Very well,” Deborah said, “I will go with you. But because of the way you are going about this, the honor will not be yours, for the LORD will hand Sisera over to a woman.” So Deborah went with Barak to Kedesh, “
Pay attention to the first 9 verses and especially verse nine...you’ll get a little bit of insight as to the character of Isrealite men at the time!

“Sarah Palin - pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-drilling, small government, strong defense, fiscal conservative, butt kicker. Hope some of it rubs off on McCain. And an Army Mom to boot! I may even be able to support this ticket.”
I can certainly support half the ticket, which is a lot more than I can support from the other side of the aisle.
I guess they are bigots...
I had a cousin I grew up with who was Downs. He was less likely to get in trouble than the rest of my pack of cousins, and I include the girls in that! I think his good/bad radar far exceeded the rest of us country boys!
I don’t share the enthusiasm for Palin that many on Free Republic do. I think her choice was a weak attempt to pander to female voters with no regard as to her qualifications to assume the presidency should McCain be unable to complete his term. Frankly, I doubt whether the majority of Americans are ready to have such an inexperienced woman one heartbeat away from the presidency, especially when there are other, better choices within the Republican Party.
To me, Palin’s choice practically guarantees an Obama/Biden victory in November. The Democrats will carry (moving roughly from west to east) Hawaii, California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Delaware, Maryland, Rhode Island, Virginia, the District of Columbia and Florida. It’s also possible North Carolina and Louisiana will go to the democrats. On election night, if Virginia, North Carolina and Florida go early for the Democrats, you can go to bed knowing the landslide has begun.
