Heads up...the Huckster up next on Rush to “correct” something Rush has been saying. Probably that Huck has been sandbagging Mitt for weeks now. Well, he has.

I strongly disagree - the “rest” of Texas will not vote for a ticket with her name on it. Most of our Pubbies group will simply not vote for a presidential candidate or will do a write-in - I know they will not vote for Barr or Obama. And IMO, it’s not about her position on abortion - most of the ill feelings toward her go to her posture on illegals, her wanting to fund everything and anything for anchor babies and her support of in-state college tuition and grants for anchor babies and illegals! For the last two years she has thumbed her nose at conservatives. Enuf is enuf.

I heard second hand that a GOP bigwig in Ohio thinks it is Pawlenty.

I beg to differ:

I agree 100%.

Ironically, the first Black major party presidential candidate had an atypical white momma.

“Big mistake. She’s a RINO.”

Wrong! She’s no RINO! Check her record on votesmart.org. Pretty conservative on Gun Control, Taxation and Defense
(my issues)...and even on Abortion (if that’s your issue).
But the Jed and Granny Clampett image we don’t need.
And please, let’s cut out the no name recognition crowd...e.g.Pawlenty, Palin, Cantor, Jindal and such!

Our enemies would view the two female candidates as speakers at a Junior League Meeting. If they slect a Woman, this is pander politics: as a woman, I should be happy but I am not. I would rather have a tough man be nominated for the position./Just Asking - seoul62.......

Women are obviously natural geniuses in certain areas and should savor that. ——>> My friend had an ackee tree. It’s leveled by now I’m sure. A few times I pulled the ackee nuts down. Boiled and ate them. I see canned ackee and its expensive. Saltfish is nothing special. Salt cod was a New England staple

"I heard second hand that a GOP bigwig in Ohio thinks it is Pawlenty."

Well, from what I hear, he could do worse, but don't know much about him, myself. I worked for Romney in the Florida Primary and was hoping it would be him.

Good grief. What is McCain thinking. I absolutely will not vote for him if it’s Kay.

Picking a conservative female would be a great strategic move by McCain. He should also consider executive experience as a plus.

Palin seemed really good until the ethics thing came up. I haven’t heard anything new on that.

I agree Palin would add a new face to the ENTIRE race, both sides. Palin is a young white woman, Prolife, NRA and a Governor.

Add me to the list of people who do not want to see Kay Bailey Hutchinson on the ticket. She does not have executive experience or military experience. She's not known for any particular conservative stands in the Senate. I can't see that she's done that much or been a leader in the Senate. Many independents are tired of people from Texas, and that factor may tip some of them away from the GOP. This one sounds like a silly rumor being floated to distract people.

At this point, I think Tim Pawlenty will be the pick. Having the convention in his state means that picking him would generate more excitement at the convention. He won't excite the rabid anti-Mormon bigotry that Mitt Romney does. While his positions haven't been perfectly conservative either, no one has accused him of changing positions. While Minnesota doesn't bring that many electoral votes, he's more certain to deliver Minnesota than Mitt Romney is to deliver Michigan.

I like Mitt Romney, but I think he's serving as the decoy right now. Haley Barbour is a possibility, but I don't think we need him to win the South. If I were in McCain's inner circle, I would have been considering Rick Santorum, but I realize that he's not a possibility. Eric Cantor may be too much of an unknown, but I'd be happy about that ticket.

Bill
