DENVER: When most people think of Joe Biden, they think Senate longevity, confidence, a liberal with a free-wheeling impulse to give you his never-to-be-humble opinion.
What they don't think of is a man who could have a great impact in Pennsylvania. The question becomes: Can he make his impact as broad as Hillary Clinton -- another Scranton native -- did in the Pennsylvania primaries?
Hillary glowed in Pennsylvania. She made Pennsylvania her second home and it stuck with voters. John Kerry, married to the Heinz ketchup heiress Teresa, did the same thing in his runup to the 2004 election. He made western Pennsylvania his second home, including the announcement of John Edwards as his running mate.
Both did well cultivating votes as a home-towner.
Larry Ceisler, a Philadelphia political analyst, says the Biden appeal is even stronger in the eastern half of the state -- home of the bulk of the votes cast in a statewide election.

When I think of Joe Biden, I think of:
Neil Kinnock
Hair plugs
Bloviator
Critical of Obama’s inexperience
Fodder for a Republican Presidential landslide in November.
That’s about it.
Agree — but you left out “lightweight”
Agree — but you left out “lightweight”
Fire up the bong! Woo hoo! It’s saturday nite in Pittsburgh! :-)
But seriously: I think you’re guessing wrong.
>> Northeastern Pennsylvania still considers him one of their own
Northeastern PA would go big for Obama no matter who he picked for VP, right?
We shall see.
Tom Ridge was, and is, a really bad choice for McCain’s VP. That much doesn’t change.
WOW.
Joe Biden.
This just show how truly inept this Obama is.
What an Idiot.
(Good for us)
Heheheheheheheh
Joe Biden is John Edwards with more inside-the-beltway experience, but without the Southern accent.
Call me cynical, but the questionable polling results of Philadelphia will most likely carry the state like always, unless McCain can carry almost all of the rest of the PA.
The last time that an all-Yankee ticket won the White House was...?
When I think of Biden, I just want to smack the man on the back of his head. I tried to listen to him on a Sunday talk show, and had to turn it off. Never tried again.
You know, one of those creepy music interludes that lets you know the bad guys are in the basement, waiting?
Yeah, the Dim's I've talked too are trying to coax their package back out.....
Admin moderator, if this is over the top, please delete, but there's enough material here to make Lenny Bruce talk like.... well.... Lenny Bruce.
Bill Cosby wouldn't have passed it up.

“Agree but you left out lightweight”
Also left “gasbag” off the list, but I guess bloviator is close enough.
>> When I think of Biden, I just want to smack the man on the back of his head.
I wonder if the hair plugs would pop out if you did that?
Doesn't that involve something deemed illegal in Biden's better days?
Good thing enough laws have been passed since then to cover everything else - no?
Not until after the payment period was completed.

But in their infinite wisdom, the Obama campaign is turning Joe Biden into a blue collar working stiff - just what Obama needs to get those bitter, gun-toting, church-going folks. The problem with this strategy is that Joe Biden isn’t anything of the sort.
Left out “baby killer supporter”
>> Not until after the payment period was completed.
LOL!
By the way I caught the “scrotum” simile too. In fact, when I first glanced at the headline I read “scrotum” not “Scranton”. I started a reply in the same vein as yours. I want you to know I am proud of my willpower — I let it go and went with the bong rip instead.
Anyway, i knew /some/ sick freeper mind* would field that one, probably more skillfully than I would have. And you did!
* I say that with reverent respect
I thought this was going to have something to do with Gov. Scranton, the Eastern Establishment’s last-minute candidate in 1964 trying to stop Barry Goldwater from getting the Republican nomination.
I can live with that. ;)
There's just so much stuff available to make jokes about that they write themselves, these days.
And rest assured, some freeper will, until we get banned.
