“If the Dims dump Obama for H.Clinton the maybe Rice would be a good pick.

No- Rice would NOT be a good pick, under ANY circumstances....”

Why?

McCain should wait until after Obama picks his VP. Romney is better than Lieberman on abortion and the economy. I liked his concession speech. It had a great deal of merit. He’s more stringent on illegal immigration than McCain but that’s not difficult. I’ll vote for McCain with Romney on the ticket. All in all, I’d say he’s no worse than McCain on most issues and a little more conservative on some except maybe gay rights.

What a Grade A dolt. Then again - we're talking Tennessee.

Nope. That statement included anybody from Tennessee. You sound like a Tennessee hating bigot.

There is nothing conservative about government mandated and subsidized healthcare. Especially with it being in the red by $300 million -— and billions of dollars over the next decade. Romney is no conservative. He remains a phony and a fraud.

Why so many people on this site fluff him is beyond me.

I pray to God they are wrong.

Need a woman or a person of color. If we had wanted Romney, he would have been voted as the nominee.

Would like Pastor Huckabee better.

No Romney and no Pawlenty and no Lieberman.

Someone we can get excited about! PLEASE!

The most effective choice is the moderate centrist, because he or she can get elected.

You are so boring.

I know Michiganers. They love the Romney family,

They also nominated a freaking Amway executive for governor last time around. They're idiots.

Romney is a Mormon. This is a nightmare, if true. He’s pro choice and he is not a Christian. I’d prefer an out an out atheist to this.

I know it is old hat, but i still like Fred Thompson.

And I would prefer Lieberman over Romney.

“The vice president will not have any impact on the abortion issue. For the record I’m pro-life but I also understand the mechanics of government. The major task before us is to win the election and keep the buffoon Obama out of the White House.”

Agree with your basic point. Neither the GOP and certainly not the Democrats are going to push to end legalized infanticide. Frankly, I think it’s a waste of time and effort to try to get to that end through the electoral process at this point. The GOP was in power for years and accomplished little in that regard. If the GOP is elected again, you can expect the same level of non-action as in the past.

Which is not to say that I think the overall cause is hopeless. Quite the opposite. I think we on the pro-creation side of the fence will eventually win. It just won’t be because we’ve elected some worthless set of politicians with a “D” or “R” after their names.

Ultimately, the pro-creation side will win because we live our ethic, while the anti-life side will lose because they live, or more accurately die, theirs. Pro-creation parents give birth to and raise pro-creation children. And often lots and lots of them. The anti-life folks are too busy aborting and contracepting their progeny to notice that in a generation or two, there will be much fewer people left who have been born and raised to believe as they do.

It’s tough to beat math.

As for the major task at hand here, I think that whether Obama or Sen McCain wins, the ultimate end is going to be about the same. Sen. Obama is viewed as an extremist and will have a much harder time implementing his extreme socialist agenda. Sen. McCain on the other hand is seen as much more of a moderate, and let’s face it, is fairly effective at what he does. He has a much better chance of implementing large portions of his soft socialist agenda.

It’s an election year of course, and the GOP propaganda strategy since time immemorial has been to win by characterizing the opposition as being so much more horrible than their candidate. Yes, Sen. Obama would be a horrible President. But Sen. McCain wouldn’t be any breath of fresh air, either.

Stay away from Ridge or Lieberman.

Or Huckster.

Or Romney...Hell...don't people understand incremental socialism? His healthcare debacle is a stain on his record that immediately disqualifies him in any leadership position. Depriving the people of choice and forcing them to pay without and option out is as bad as any tyranny a rat could hatch against us.

I will not be called up by someone who supports Romney. I thought you crated your list for McCain and now you are trying to sell us a fake, opportunistic commie. No thanks.

What's worse is that we are being softened up by the media to accept a fake by saying "look we could have select an out spoken Pro-choice person but instead we give you...the flip Romney!" who now says he is pro-life after a very recent record of being a very loud mouth homo pushing/mandating/baby eliminating/leftist.

The whole process is pathetic and no one in the media..including Hannity will get by with dissing people with mature principles like this. We will not forget their push for this. They want the country to fall to a culture of death. It won't happen.

"Romney is better than Lieberman on abortion and the economy"

BS...the only difference here is that Liberman is honest.

McCain is the nominee only because he is one of the last Pro-life candidates left standing. If he screws this up...everything he said will go down the tubes and he will lose to to the Obamination. I will not stand by and watch our own party lie to the people this way.

I agree. I am really opposed to Romney, but I also don't understand why McCain in any case should even be looking at candidates who already lost a primary. Romney had lots of money and even that didn't help him.

I know McCain probably wants Romney for his money and because he thinks he'll get Mormon-heavy Utah and Nevada because of Romney (but think how many states he might lose because of Romney!), but I really think it's bad policy to pick somebody who's already lost. And I say this even as someone who likes Huckabee and wishes he had won; but I don't think he should be picked for VP, either.
