In a sharp turnaround, Republican John McCain has opened a 5-point lead on Democrat Barack Obama in the U.S. presidential race and is seen as a stronger manager of the economy, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday.

McCain leads Obama among likely U.S. voters by 46 percent to 41 percent, wiping out Obama's solid 7-point advantage in July and taking his first lead in the monthly Reuters/Zogby poll.

The poll was taken Thursday through Saturday as Obama wrapped up a weeklong vacation in Hawaii ....

He's back now; tan and rested.

The only STATES that BO will win are the Democratic People’s Republic of NJ, NY, MA, CA.

As much as I dislike McLiberal, I have to give him credit for persistence. He will easily become the next POTUS by default.

I don’t like 40% of his policies, but as a fellow human being I take my hat off to him. Amazing what human beings can accomplish just by never giving up.

He was given up for dead in a POW camp....he survived.

He was given up for dead after losing to W in 2000...he survived and didn’t become a bearded hermit with a mental disorder like algore.

He was given up for dead in this years Republican primaries...no money, no support, no staff and he managed to win.

He was given up for dead running against the most blessed and merciful, Obamessiah...and he is going to clobber him.

What can you say?

If nothing else the guy is a warrior with a ridiculous amount of intestinal fortitude, moxy and brass balls.

(I’m John McCain, and I approved this ad that the horse tooth jackass with a modem just wrote)

Will McCain snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory by nominating a lame Veep? That’s my fear

Why would he change the perfect running of his campaign now(In his mind)??? He and the country-club republicans are showing all the looser base once again how it is suppose to be done.

Too bad history shows us just how poorly they finish presidential elections.

Sometimes I do not know whether to fear his loosing or his winning because of how it would damage the republicans long term if he won. He would go into this presidency without any true support of the people and his own base just their fear of the other guy, not good. Two years of Obama would give us a sweep of the house and senate probably on a greater scale than Clinton did, but oh, the pain of living those two years.

I am at the point of almost not caring what McCain does because either way it is bad, but his VP pick will determine if I vote for the president or leave it blank for the first time ever.
