I had several conversations with these offices yesterday. They NEED to hear from us.
WE WANT THE BOEHNER BILL!
1) The House (Republican and Dem) has heard the people and know that this is the bill we want.
2) The Senate (this may be a surprise to some) actually represents the EXACT same people the House does! (amazing isn't it)
3) PREGO! yes, PREGO! It's in there! Boehner's Bill includes renewables, solar, wind, nuclear, AND drilling.
4) We don't want "something done" for the sake of "getting something done." WE WANT A SOLUTION!
5) If ANYTHING needs to added to the Boehner bill it is this, we need to allow drilling without interference of baseless lawsuits from anti-progress, anti-independence yahoos.
6) If BOEHNER'S BILL is not able to pass the Senate- then let the PEOPLE see that the Republicans offered solutions, and the Dems BAWKED!
7) If nothing gets passed-- well, the sunset on the congressional moretoreum will expire and then.......
LET THE DRILLING BEGIN!!!!!!!!!

You make it sound so simple. But tell me, where will we get all the rigs to do this with? There is a strong reality here to face.

the ethics committee is a total waste of time— they cannot tell us anything— and they are “already aware” of the situation....
We need our Congressmen to shine a light on this— talk about it, move on it, etc......
the more public pressure for an investigation— the more likely we are to get one— and enormous pressure will HELP with trying to get an honest and fair one....
You seem to have all the answers, you tell me how. I would love to expand my own career in the process.

The founding fathers named the right to property five times in the US Constitution. At the root, that was John Locke’s influence on the American Enlightenment.
Put thus, James Madison said “He who takes your property does not respect your ideas”. That was very astute.
We also have different views that for each individual to decide for him/herself is the most effective means of achieving economic recovery if not also prolonged prosperity. The country prospers if individuals are allowed to prosper. That happens when the government gets out of the way. Once the government gets involved, there is no incentive to solve any problem.
If you choose America only, the most effective manner is via boycott. That is a powerful tool. Just ask the French after 2003.

Excuses have nothing to do with it. Every single drilling rig on this Continent is already committed to do just that and most are already booked for years in advance. This is the best we can do with what we currently have.
You know almost nothing about this industry or how it works. You are simply one of the shouters making demands you cannot back up.
You might try taking a breather, settle down and approach this from a more logical and reserved position. Or at least switch to decaf.
Well, that is one of the things that go into starting now. It's time to figure these things out and move forward. Until there is a guarantee to drill, there will be no work done on these issues. You, on the other hand try to make it so difficult. Start planning now....Strong realities are all over the place. Here's one for you...we have been reduced to a one income family right now because one of us got laid off due to the economy. High fuel costs were the determining factor. There's my strong reality. DRILL HERE! DRILL NOW!
That said, I'm thinking through all the Regressional 'investigations' that I can recall just now, and you know what? Nothing ever comes of them. Indictments? Only of designated fall guys. Resignations? Nope, not even Harrison Williams (remember him from Abscam?).
The Regressional ''ethics'' committee is a bad joke. Proof? Certainly: were it not, not less than half the Regress would have seen multiple complaints against them, as well as multiple censures. Hmmm...must've missed them all (I hate it when that happens...).

I don’t spend my time sitting around making excuses about why things cannot be done. Like our forefathers, and the many important Americans who used ingenuity, initiative, and drive to acheive great things— many of us realize that the gov’t get in the way of progress, they do not advance it.

You just contradicted yourself. Tell me what investor will stick 20 to 100 million dollars into one drilling rig or platform on the grounds that there might be a need for it in a year or so?
I understand your frustration in what has happened to your income capacity. But there are no guarantees in life unless you cater to Socialism and believe that the rest of the world owes you security and prosperity.
I have been in this industry for the last 35 years and am rather high up the poll in regards to which drilling rig or company goes where. I have a good handle on what is real and what is not.

I believe you when you say that he’s being unrealistic. I would also suggest that there have been a considerable amount of changes to the technology, which may account for a wide variation of the estimates we hear about how long it would take.

I just so happen to be one of those people developing that new drilling technology as well as several new fields; North Dakota, just recently.
But you can take the word of a Congressman who has never set foot on a drilling location in his life than listen to me. Perhaps you should go to these fields then and straighten all of us ignorant fools out on what we have been doing so wrong for all of these years. We need all the help we can get right now.
