New FTC Rule Could Apply To Pelosi
BEHOLD the Power of the People, and the Power of
Nancy: "most open, most honest, and most ethical Congress in history"
Nancy: "and Democrats promise to work together in a bi-partisan way for all Americans."
What is the truth about Nancy?
"Madam Speaker has a substantial amount of money invested in Clean Energy Fuels Corporation." dontgo
From the same article:
"Only 20% of Americans now oppose offshore drilling.." Rasmussen
We have THREE DEMANDS for both the House AND the Senate! (call both House and Senate offices)
1) Congress MUST STOP PROTECTING Nancy's purse, get back to Washington, DC and vote on the American Energy Act!
2) Begin an IMMEDIATE investigation into CLNE, Pelosi, and other investors!
3) Demand that the Broadcaster Freedom Act be brought to the floor for a vote!
MELT THE LINES TODAY FOLKS!!!
As for the Gang of 10.
I had several conversations with these offices yesterday. They NEED to hear from us.
WE WANT THE BOEHNER BILL!
1) The House (Republican and Dem) has heard the people and know that this is the bill we want.
2) The Senate (this may be a surprise to some) actually represents the EXACT same people the House does! (amazing isn't it)
3) PREGO! yes, PREGO! It's in there! Boehner's Bill includes renewables, solar, wind, nuclear, AND drilling.
4) We don't want "something done" for the sake of "getting something done." WE WANT A SOLUTION!
5) If ANYTHING needs to added to the Boehner bill it is this, we need to allow drilling without interference of baseless lawsuits from anti-progress, anti-independence yahoos.
6) If BOEHNER'S BILL is not able to pass the Senate- then let the PEOPLE see that the Republicans offered solutions, and the Dems BAWKED!
7) If nothing gets passed-- well, the sunset on the congressional moretoreum will expire and then.......
LET THE DRILLING BEGIN!!!!!!!!!

John Thune
Saxby Chambliss
Bob Corker

Arguing with a libertarian friend a moment ago about ANWR drilling, his comment “raping the Alaskan wilderness” fired me up enough to search for the real truth on this Alaskan wilderness we mean ole conservatives want to “desecrate.”
And I found this link showing that the proposed drilling site is only .08% of the Alaskan wilderness.

FYI, in case you haven’t seen it already.

“””it will be 10 years or more for the new oil to come to market to do any good,” ... .”
blah, blah, blah. What are these whiners gonna do? Roll over and die?
They’re a bunch of babies with this “10 years” comment. So immature.
And HEY! Thanks for the link. I’ve bookmarked it to add to my other ‘weaponry.’
You’re welcome! For a list articles containing energy facts and figures, use the Keyword “energyfacts” ( http://www.freerepublic.com/tag/energyfacts/index ).
wouldn’t do as “fact” with my Libertarian friend...any time he sees FReeRepublic attached to my links or “facts” he gets really defiant. It’s amazing how he can turn a cold hard fact in to an untruth.
I’m not a good political debator, that’s for sure. But I’m dumb enough to try. LOL.

Naturally, its hard for Big Oil to generate more petroleum when it cannot open new refineries, develop the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge, broaden offshore production, nor even modernize its underwater maps. This is like screaming at Mom because dinner is late while blocking the kitchen door.
For example, the article posted on FR, "Does It Have To Take A Decade To Bring New Crude To Market?, is tagged with the Keyword "energyfacts." The original source for that article is Investor's Business Daily (htpp://www.investors.com/editorial/IBDArticles.asp?artsec=16&issue=20080718.
You can just give him the link to the original article, or print out the article for him. He doesn't even need to know it was posted on Free Republic.
Excellent information. Thanks for posting it!
At long last, Mrs. Pelosi, have you no shame? Have you no decency?
:::::::
Of course not. She is a radical, leftist, socialist DemoRat. Decency, ethics, honor, morals, selflessness, honesty, integrity, patriotism?
You must be kidding.
Thank you, I appreciate that, and would add, how hard must it be for the Press to just print the facts, when I can do it from just a little investment of time to get to the bottom of the factual evidence. I have no budget, and am not in the news business, yet kick their b-hinds in my spare time, guess they just want to hold the facts till after the election.
How long did it take the Brutus Platform to start producing from it's planning stage?
What I find most troubling is the political divide regarding the potential sources. There are basically two opposing forces. On the one hand are those opposed to offshore drilling. These are mostly Democrats. On the other hand are those opposed to a use it or lose it stipulation on federal government land leases that are known to hold oil reserves. This group is predominately Republican.
I want both offshore drilling bans lifted AND a use it or lose it stipulation on federal land leases. I have heard the argument that the leased lands hold no promise. If that were so, why in the world would very successful businesses, large multinational oil companies spend millions upon millions of dollars securing the rights to something that is worthless? They would not, except to have the ability to control the production sources as a means to limit supplies, which in turn drive prices up.
I want one other addition to our energy independence needs. We need legislation that moves aside the courts as we try to address our domestic energy exploration and development. In todays political climate, even if offshore drilling bans were lifted and a use it or lose it stipulation imposed, it could reasonably take 10 years for oil companies to overcome court actions by environmentalists. This must not be.
The discovery well was completed in 1988. Leasing and Seismic study started years before that. Production began in 2001.

BTW, the answer is in the article you posted.
Already exists. Leases are issued for 5, 8 or 10 year terms depending where they are. For example, deep water is usually a 10 year lease due to the time require to complete survey and schedule rigs. If they do not produce oil in the time frame, they lose the lease.
The democrats are blowing smoking by counting acreage that is under lease but exploration is not yet completed. They include acreage where protests and court injunction have held up drilling.
