Asia Times Onling ^ | 08/11/08 | Spengler

Posted on 08/12/2008 9:41:37 AM PDT by RicocheT

If Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin were president of the United States, would Iran try to build a nuclear bomb? Would Pakistan provide covert aid to al-Qaeda? Would Hugo Chavez train terrorists in Venezuela? Would leftover nationalities with delusions of grandeur provoke the great powers? Just ask Georgia's President Mikheil Saakashvili, who now wishes he never tried to put his 4 million countrymen into strategic play

The US government should frame our foreign policy goals on realities, not pipe dreams. We back tyrants, losers and lost causes, not what will keep the country safe and strong.

Putin for US president - more than ever

Vladimir Putin is a greedy, power-hungry old-school Soviet tyrant who orders the murders of those who disagree with him and who steals every ruble he can get his hands on with an untroubled conscience.

Spengler, on the other hand, is just a dope.

Probably not but then again we would likely be watching our rights slip away even faster than they are now.

If Putin was President, Americans would be a dying breed in the ethnic cleansing of America. Strong males would be saved to work in the mines and lumber camps, but women and children would be wortless to the regiem.

Land prices would drop, and good Russian families would be moving in.

I agree, dumass post of the day.

You mean like restoring the Soviet Union!?

"Spengler" is dumber than dirt, and so is everyone agreeing with him... no wait. They are even dumber.

Actually, it’s an interesting article, if you take the time to read it.

Russia has its objective firmly in view and is going for it. We have to figure out what ours is and go for it. Right now, we don’t really seem to have one.

Great article.

“...Cardinal Richelieu...”
Thats funny.

Putin is great for Russia.
Check the Russian polls.
They love him - with good reason.

He could easily run as a democrat.

Russia has its objective firmly in view and is going for it.

Of course it does. It's been set since 1917. Business as usual.
