Barack Obama is not legally a US natural-born citizen according to the law on the books at the time of his birth; a law that was in effect between December 24, 1952 and November 13, 1986, when the law was changed.
However, the new law did not preempt the former law in the cases of those born between the above listed dates when the old law was in effect.
Therefore, Senator Obama may very well be disqualified....
Barack Obamas father was not a US citizen, and Obamas mother was only 18 when he was born, which means although she had been a US citizen for 10 years, his mother fails the test for being so for at least 5 years prior to Barack Obamas birth.
In order for her child to have been a natural-born US citizen, his mother would have had to be 21 at the time of his birth....

I believe that section of law only applies to people born outside of the United States. Or in other words, if Obama was really born in Hawaii at the time claimed the quoted section of law does not apply.
See 21.
The statute quoted in this article only applies to people born outside the USA. For those born inside the USA the 14th amendment applies. The author of the article is simply confused or misinformed.
Which is not to negate the argument of those who claim that the Article II language “natural born citizen” has a special common law meaning that renders Obama ineligible due to his dual citizenships. That is a separate subject.
This election must be played out to the end and Obama must be soundly defeated by the voters. Even then, there will be charges of election rigging.
In the ABC August 4th Bill Clinton interview, Bill has a VERY peculiar quote:
In an interview that aired on ABCs World News Tonight Bill Clinton denied that he is angry at Barack Obama, but offered very little in terms of an endorsement and enthusiasm for the Democratic nominee.
Clinton denied that he is still angry, Im not, and I never was mad at Senator Obama. I think everybodys got a right to run for president if he qualifies under the Constitution...
IMHO, it just seems "strange" Bill would say "...IF HE QUALIFIES UNDER THE CONSTITUTION" when being questioned about his support for the Obamassiah.
Note that the writer is a U.S. Citizen and his case appears very well prepared. Looking like “THE GRAND MESSIAH” is really “The Snakeoil Salesman and CON ARTIST” We always suspected!!!!!!! NOBAMA IN 08!!
Really? Does someone win a prize or something?
>>Its hard to imagine why Hillary wouldnt push this issue. I suppose the question is whether she still has the political moxie to do it.
I’d think it’s a question of timing. If this issue has legs, then her best move would be to angle for the V.P. position at the convention and let Obama take the spotlight during the election. If they win the election, then she can play this card to disqualify him from taking office, and she as the V.P. reluctantly takes over.
No, but there were a lot of good comments that answer some of the questions raised here.
No need to be nasty.
It will become relevant if the Hillary bots bring it up at the Dem convention.
Hey Obama, did your Grandma give you your real birth certificate?
This Hillary angle has crossed my mind a few times this week.
Not to anyone with even a passing familiarity with naturalization law, it isn't. Anybody born on US soil, other than the children of POWs, diplomats and hostile Indians, is automatically a citizen. That's true today and it was true in 1960 and ever since the passage of the 14th Amendment.
Really? You'd rather win on a technicality (not that this has any merit) than by discrediting his ideas?
In order for her child to have been a natural-born US citizen, his mother would have had to be 21 at the time of his birth....
Only if he were not born in the US.
Well, the other option is proving his parents were prisoners of war, diplomats and/or hostile Indians at the time of his birth, because if they were, he wouldn't have received automatic citizenship. Might be an uphill climb...
