Just curious, are you a former journalist or lawyer?
You are confusing being an American Citizen (which he is), and being a NATURAL BORN American Citizen (which he is NOT).
To run for President he would have to be a NATURAL BORN citizen.
No. I spent about 9 years as a naval officer, then after grad school I've worked in IT for about 20 years.
If he was not a natural born citizen then he would have had to gone through a naturalization ceremony, correct?
Those laws only apply only to those born outside the United States.
If Obama drew his first breath in Hawaii......the those laws are IRRELEVANT as he would automatically be a natural born citizen no matter who his parent sare or were.
As such, the only pertinent issue right now is "Was Obama born in the United States."
....and i'd like to see an authentic birth certificate.
Lucky you. My only non-musical post today.
*BZZZT* --- Wrong! Need two to tango.
Gotcha I’ve been a part time journalist both in print and radio for over 30 years and you are super strong on documentation which is a must for good results.
No, I don't think so.
He's a US citizen from birth, just not one that qualifies to be President.
Naturalization Ceremonies are for foreigners who are becoming American Citizens.
They, too, can never become President.
“I’ve always heard that only the top 10% of students in a law school qualify to be on the law review.”
In the 1970s, because of minority complaints, the Harvard Law Review changed criteria to reflect other considerations besides grades. Obama came along about the time they needed a black. While President, he produced no HLR articles or scholarship. He was just there.
No one knows his standing in any of his college undertakings. He won’t release grades or transcripts, so there is no way of knowing where he stood at Harvard or anywhere else.
One thing is certain - nothing he has said or done as a candidate reveals any smarts. And when he’s off the teleprompter, he shows how shallow his thinking is.
Remeber how we insisted Kerry release his records? Time for Obama to do the same.
buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmp !!
How do you explain the magna cum laude graduation from HLS? At Harvard undergraduate, even now, that would put him in at least the top 20% of the class. Undoubtedly any class at HLS does contain a lot of very smart people.

1. He said that the Republicans have been the party of ideas in the past few decades.
2. He beat Hillary to the nomination.
I probably haven't listened enough to his off-teleprompter remarks to judge, but in general I think that the idea that he is some sort of Being There moron is wishful thinking. Lots of conservative people who have met him seem to agree that he is a very smart guy.
I agree that it would be very interesting to see his grades. But I don't think McCain would want to follow suit. I'm not sure how Bush and Gore were coaxed to reveal their grades.
Habit. I work in an area where it pays to be skeptical - of budgets, of requirements, of customer demands. If you don't then you wind up paying for things you shouldn't pay for, doing things you didn't need to do, or not doing things you should have done. You've got to do your research and have the facts.
He would have gone through the naturalization process, in which case there would have been a record of it somewhere. Not everyone gets a ceremony.
This [patting his mom's hand and telling her not to worry about a high school friend of his who was busted for drugs], too, prompted Obama to share with his readers a life lesson on how to handle white people: "It was usually an effective tactic, another one of those tricks I had learned: People were satisfied so long as you were courteous and smiled and made no sudden moves. They were more than satisfied, they were relieved -- such a pleasant surprise to find a well-mannered young black man who didn't seem angry all the time."Joe Biden sure did swallow that hook, huh?
They just bought the Enquirer a few years ago.
It is his memoir fer crissake. If he admitted it in his memoir, he admitted it, and you don't have to put in the disclaimer "according to his memoir..." It sounds like you are saying, "according to the tabloid press, he admitted..." Now I will grant his memoir the status of the tabloid press, but still, it is his own byline, and so we can take it as an admission and not a potentially false allegation by a third party, unless there are two BHOs.
Actually, from the recent press on his nationality and last name difficulties, there could be three HBOs, so it is a nice defense. I am not sure that having a multiple personality disorder is a good place to start one's bid for President, but it is an interesting strategy.

Ooops. Now I am going to be hauled off in chains by the multiple posting police.
