JOHN Edwards "shocked" the political world yesterday by admitting he'd cheated on his wife of 30 years with a campaign aide, Rielle Hunter.
If it looks like a phony, walks like a phony, quacks like a phony, it's a phony.

Edwards isn't the only one dishonored. The media accepted his denials of any affair - while holding at least one other candidate to a different standard. The New York Times insinuated in a front-page story that McCain had had an affair with a lobbyist - an allegation utterly without evidence. And MSNBC's Keith Ollberman broke into scheduled programming to hawk the story.
But it's Edwards who most deserves our disgust.
As I said when it came out - is anyone really surprised? Nope....
No, I’ll save some disgust for Olberdork.
Edwards: “I did penetrate, but, did not impregnate”
Soooo Clintonian
Kirsten is a Dem. Strategist. Wonder why she wasn’t saying this about him before the latest broke or when he was running for Pres.? Conservatives knew he was a fake. Wonder what she thinks about Obama?
I didn’t bat an eyelid when I heard this news.
When the rumors were circulating it all sounded plausible to me.
However, I did not know his wife’s cancer was terminal and I feel so sorry for her and all the other nameless women out there suffering similar humiliation. Its rough.
Kirsten Powers wrote this ???? Isn’t she the blond dim on Fox???
That’s her.
I was shocked. I could never imagine him having sex with anyone.
That part just sickens me. As if THAT is supposed to garner any respect, or excuse his actions?
None of these jerks like Edwards can ever just say, "I screwed up royally, it's 100% my fault, I was responsible for my own actions, and I am very sorry."
Oh, I could. Just not with women.
You posted: But I only cheated on my wife when she was in remission, not when her cancer was full-blown.

And frankly, I don’t understand Edwards’ argument here. I guess what he is claiming is that at a time when his wife was well (or less sick, at least) and could have been “available” to him, he chose to have sex with someone not his wife. He would still be scum, but his argument would have been better if his wife was sick and could not accommodate his “needs” as a man.
Any reference to his wife’s cancer is just more fuel on the fire— not that the media will have much concern.
Gonna need a bit more than that description to go on...
For REALS empty suit with a $400 haircut .
Well, I didn't want to say that, but it crossed my mind too. When I first heard the phrase "John Edwards sex scandal," I thought, "10 year old boy?"
You betcha. A few years ago, a local rag, The Virginian Pilot
actually touted Edwards as , "The Next Bill Clinton" , as though it were a good thing.
They had high hopes for the Silky Pony.
the worst low life is the finest, most esteemed ambulance chaser (and wife) in this country. The old adage: 99% of the lawyers in this country make the other 1% look bad.
Trying to elect the next president by propaganda will backfire in the wallet as the electorate understands the manipulation.
Edwards confessed, the A. P. solemnly stated, that he “had had” an affair - NOT that he HAS (continually) had an affair with the woman.
This is a cover-up by the A. P. for Edwards. But it is surely more than
that.
Next there will probably be an A. P. story that McKain HAS HAD an extramarital affair - never mind that it was some 30 years ago when he returned from imprisonment and torture in North Vietnam.
There will be an effort to equate the two. The A. P. and the other media which work hand-in-hand with the Democrats are nothing but pimps and whores.
