Excerpt -

GORI, Georgia, Aug 9 (Reuters) - Russia said it had driven Georgian forces from the capital of South Ossetia on Saturday as part of an operation to force Georgia to accept peace in its breakaway region.

"Tactical groups have fully liberated Tskhinvali from the Georgian military and have started pushing Georgian units beyond the zone of peacekeepers responsibility," Tass quoted Ground Forces commander Vladimir Boldyrev as saying.

We don’t have a dog in this fight between Russia and Georgia.

Just like we didn't have a dog in WWII until we were attacked?? Meanwhile, we just sat by and watched scores of jews murdered, Nazism spread, innocent civilians killed, because gutless isolationism ruled the day.

Or maybe the Georgian oil pipeline that the Russkies just tried to destroy doesn't bother you either. I call that a declaration of war on the West.

Wake up. The whole world has a dog in this fight.

Look at this ...

Our economy and stock market is tied to what China and Saudia Arabia choose to do. They can black mail us.

That’s the wisdom of the idiots in Washington righht there.

The US is not aggressively invading nations to annex them, slaughtering countless civilians on purpose in the process.

Russia is.

Georgia started the shooting. They may have been justified, and Russia may have wanted it all along, but Russia was already in Ossetia. Their peacekeeping force has been there since 1992, IIRC.

Putin probably didn’t have to tell anyone to shoot anything before he left for Beijing.

Why isn’t the missle system in Greece or Italy - NATO member states?

Those 2 countries are right there in the line of fire.

The Czech Republic and Poland are waayyyyy up north and wayyy to the east facing Russia.

If the missle shield was really about protecting Europe from muzzies then it would be in Greece or Italy.

The Jews were being killed after the US entered the war and made a foot hold in Europe.

The Nazis at first wanted to deport them.

Read your history.

What would have been the difference between the Nazis occupying France and the EU (communist-lite) running Europe?

Russia isn’t doing the same either!

Russia would need a lot more than 150 armored vehicles and a few airstrikes to occupy and control Georgia.

They’re coming in to protect ethnic Russians in Ossetia.

We don’t have a dog in this senseless fight.

You cannnot have it both ways...

Apparently you can. Serbia was right on Kosovo, but Georgia is wrong on Ossetia and Abkhazia. That's what you are saying.

May I point out that you haven't responded to any of my questions? Unable or unwilling to confront the truth?

Allow me to show you a different perspective of the issue, and you'll understand where I'm coming from. Islam is not a religion of peace. If it ever was, it stopped being one shortly after Muhammad arrived in Medina.

So, why do I speak of peaceful Muslims?

Well, there are Christians who believe that Christianity is the religion of male on male anal sex. They wouldn't describe it that way, of course, but when they attack orthodox Christians as hateful bigots for opposing gay marriage and portray it as completely compatible with Christ's teachings, then that is what they are saying. In addition to that silliness, you have "Christians" who believe that Christianity is basically Marxism 1.0, that it's a New Age exercise, or that Jesus was into white supremacy.

So, if someone can misunderstand Christianity so profoundly that they think those things, why wouldn't a Muslim be able to believe that Muhammad brought a message of peace to the world?

Oh, and will you be telling or FReeper comrade a_Turk that he is a homicidal Muslim? You are talking about my response to his post, and talking about his religion. You are saying that a secular country that has been a NATO ally for decades is either full of homicidal fanatics or has been "militarily and economically crushed." Will you clue him in?

But the “slaughtering countless civilians” is exactly what Georgia did attacking the sleeping town at night. Ask them why they did that? If they didn’t no Russian tanks were today in S.Osetia.

Georgia is responsible for whole thing.

Please take a map and a ruler. Put the ruler on Tabriz in Iran. Look for a North or East European capital. Put the ruler on between them. Think.

Oh, I see where you are coming from now: Mass murder doesn't bother you, as long as it doesn't affect you in your comfy home. Yes, your human compassion is showing up loud and clear. You are an apologist for evil. Thank you and good-bye.

Kososvo was anciet part of Serbia for which it fought for centuries. But S.OSetia was attached to Georgia by dictator Stalin who was ethnic gerogian himself. DO you see the difference?

And it’s these same beer-drinking farts who got the US into the trouble where it is today with half the country SWOONING over a marxist candidate named Obama.

If those football-watching, beer-drinking dolts had more kids instead of blowing money on boats, golf, and other junk, we might have enough people to elect a Reagan Republican type of government.

Too late to catch up ... the libs out populate us and 5-months of attack ads can’t unchange 12 months of 24/7 liberal propaganda from mulitple angles of fire.

The missle shield is a provoking act against Russia.

Sure, and when my neighbor the State Trooper puts on his bulletproof vest, that means he's threatening me.

Iran isn’t interested in nuking Poland! Iran wants to nuke Israel!!! And that shield can’t protect Israel way up there in Europe.

We're already working on missile defense with Israel. And if you think Putin would never want to nuke Europe, you need to ask why London and Madrid Train bombings weren't Tel Aviv and Haifa us bombings. I'm not sure you grasp this, but Europe is full of infidels.

Ah yesterday the Putin apologists here assured us that it's only about the poor oppressed Ossetians. Now Abkhazia follows suit. The Russkies are pushing South. Landgrabbing hordes... nothing else.

Of course Abkhazia follows suit. The third Georgian minority, the Adjar, would follow suit too, if they could. All minorities want out of Georgia. There is a reason for that. Andrei Sakharov, shortly before his death, called Georgia "a little empire." It only got worse since then.

OMG, you don’t get it!

We need the shield to protect ISRAEL!!!

How can the shield in the Czech Republic protect Israel? It can’t. Don’t you get it?

Iran wants to nuke Israel, not the Czech Republic. Why won’t YOU stand up for the Israelies? Seems like I’m the only one.
