Where have all the real men gone?
Top American columnist Kathleen Parker is causing a furore with her new book Save the Males, in which she argues that feminism has neutered men and deprived them of their noble, protective role in society
I know. Saving the males is an unlikely vocation for a 21st-century woman. Most men dont know they need saving; most women consider the idea absurd. When I tell my women friends that I want to save the males, they look at me as if noticing for the first time that I am insane. Then they say something like: Are you out of your mind? This is still a male-dominated world. Its women who need saving. Screw the men!

My buddy’s wife once asked this question...I told her I tell her after she got us another beer.
I guess I feel fortunate - last night my 9 yr old son explained who his heroes were and then asked his mother who her heroes were. My wife said “Sometimes it’s your father, sometimes it’s my father and sometimes it’s you.”
Or as the Amish say,
“Kissin’ wears out. Cookin’ don’t.”
;^)
Anyway, I have attempted to date women who are attractive and otherwise intelligent, but they have completely bought into the worldview that MEN ARE JERKS!!
BTW, they work in the local university administration, they’re not faculty, mind you, where you find the real Amazons.
The ones I know are now retired and playing softball at least 4 days a week..........
I can’t give you one. My wife was a stunning 6’ blonde even before we got married. I want before and after pictures of one of these women who supposedly transmorgified (thank you Calvin) after marriage.
If you’re married, you’d better keep that woman because it’s not every man who’s lucky enough to be married to a saint. If you’re single, get used to it.
And I suppose they look nothing like the Amazon hotties from Xena or those B-grade '80s sword & sandal flicks.
And men? All ages, all demographics too -- wanting to thank me for giving a "damn".
Oh, I should add here, I was living in the San Francisco Bay Area.
It was always great to be up in Mendocino, Napa and Sebastopol: People, who most would coin as "uber hippies" -- were all on the same page on this matter, agreeing with my bumpersticker. And really well-informed folks, too.
Kathleen Parker should, IMHO, consider a book signing event possibly in that part of CA.
There are some real women there too.
Absolutely. We send Christmas cards to the troops each year, addresses from AnySoldier.com, and last year we got nice notes back from some really cute lady MPs in Afghanistan. One of them was planning to be a hairdresser after her enlistment, and she'd done all their hair in very attractive, but G.I., styles.
cool!
Thailand?
Well, he hasn't smelled the back of my fridge!
I’m divorced after 21 years, and after 4 years of being single, I have to ask, “Where have all the real women gone?”
And if you (the woman) want to dress all in black, don’t object if I call you a Sicilian widow!
It is a valid point. Close examination reveals that there is a qualitative and quantitative decline in incentives for men to marry. Why?
Generally, there need not be a sinister cabal when liberalism is pervasive, as otherwise well-meaning folks will over-emphasize (and thus, pervert to selfish ends) individualism when faced with the debasement of revered institutions. Witness the thread a couple of days ago where the "mature" woman sued and won 100k+ for her fiance calling off their engagement. There were as more Freepers who opined agreement, as there were who recognized the damage (on many levels) that had been rendered. This response is amongst the vanguard of conservatism; imagine the response and ramifications for Joe Lotery Ticket, and Fred America Idol.
To some here, the above thesis may sound a bit wild; however, try to remember it some time when you our considering these fundamental questions of our society, and you will be amazed at your predictive powers of the behavior of individual actors and society as a whole. But be forewarned: The real crisis comes when you plot all of these newfound correct predictions, thus discerning the slope of our nation. And finally, consider that there is currently no serious organ/institution with the power AND influence to slow this change, let alone render an inflection.
