Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi will be taking questions online at The Washington Post this afternoon at 3 p.m. as part of her tour promoting her new book, Know Your Power, A Message to America's Daughters.
Washington Post page to submit questions and follow discussion.
The questions are screened by The Post's moderator and those that are forwarded to Pelosi can be passed over by her in private.
The Post blurb says that in addition to the book she'll be talking about "the current political scene."
Have fun, but keep it clean, please.

My question: shouldn’t your book be titled, “Abusing Your Power”? My comment: Over 70% of the American population are in favor of opening more territory for drilling but you remain a pawn of the Environmental Extremists. I suggest you go back to college and take Economics 101 and learn about supply and demand.

Thanks for letting us know about this. I just sent this in: “I don’t understand how you feel justified in pursuing your self-serving interest in selling a lot of books right now when you just turned your back on efforts to reach some sort of energy solution on the House floor last week. Was it really necessary for you to turn off the lights and the microphones on the House floor when you left the debate behind you so you could take your vacation? What is it going to take for you to listen to the majority of the American public and allow their elected representatives to vote on energy measures that include, but are not limited to, drilling in the U.S?”

My submission to the Queen if Socialism;
Mrs Pelosi, If 70% of the American people want more domestic drilling now, why do you continue to block voting on this issue? Please correct me if I’m wrong, but last I checked you are employed by us. So why won’t you do what you are paid to do, (by us again) stop the petty political fighting, and let the vote happen. By the way I hope you are enjoying your vacation. My family had to cancel ours this summer. It seems keeping our tires properly inflated hasn’t helped in gas department.

My request....
""Know Your Power, A Message to America's Daughters.""
As an "American Daughter", I would like to "know" why you shut down the government to prevent a vote on one of the most important issues affecting every one of "America's Daughters"?
Your actions seem to indicate that you don't like us very much."

I just sent the Madam Speaker the following letter along with my Congressman Dennis Moore.
We need leadership in America that listens what we need as a country.
Please! as distasteful as it might be, send the Madem Speaker and your elected official an email and tell them how you feel. Flood Washington's email servers and tell them to come back on Monday Morning to deal with Energy and the High Paying Good Jobs Drilling creates for our fellow Americans.
Dear Speaker Pelosi,
Attached is a letter sent to my Congressman Dennis Moore. Congress needs to come back to Washington Next Monday and start dealing with the Energy crisis in a Bipartisan manner instead of the grandstanding that has taken place when you turned the lights and camara's off last week. This is America and we all are acting like its a third world country.
We need to grow Jobs and that can only be done by changing our Can't Do additude to a Can Do additude. We need domestic drilling in the US and Coastal Waters and in ANWR. Drilling creates Jobs for Americans. High Paying Jobs! Building Nuclear Power Plants creat Jobs! High Paying Jobs.
What do you and the rest of the congress not understand about supporting the creation of Jobs and security for America?
Please deal with the issues that effect Jobs, Security and the future growth of our Nation.
Best Regards, XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Congressman Dennis Moore
1727 Longworth House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515
Dear Congressman Moore,
Thank you for your August 6th, 2008 update from Washington, regarding the need to deal with the energy issue. I find the message very shallow when Congress could have take the necessary steps to continue the dialog and debate on Drilling Here and Drilling now for American security at home.
The defining moment occurred last week when Speaker Pelosi, showed America what bipartisan cooperation really meant to her and the democracy we have in America by turning off the CSPAN Cameras, sound and lights on the minority side of the house. Yes that is a real partisan and a mature show of power by the Speaker of the House! I was greatly disappointed that you have not taken the time to address this grandstanding issue and the energy issues with Kansan's.
There is a real solution to the energy crisis in America today and that is for Congress to take some action in allowing for new domestic drilling, here at home and off the coastal waters of the United States. Even, the Alaskan's want to drill in ANWR! So why not drill there. Think about the new high paying jobs the drilling creates for Americans!
We have gone from a nation of Can Do to a nation of Cant Do with Gridlock in Washington. Evidently if youre not a part of the solution to the energy issue then your part of the problem! Perhaps six terms in Congress is enough in Washington?
Creating a windfall profit's tax against the oil companies and giving that money back to the voters is a bad idea. Everything were hearing from the Democratic Party is tax and more tax! And then were going to give you this $1,000.00 rebate from the windfall tax. Well as a shareholder of Exxon-Mobil since 1985, I find that message troubling as Barack Obama's plan to play Robin Hood with the American taxpayer is dead wrong. Windfall Profit taxes will hurt the Oil companies and hurt their stockholders who are voters in the 2008 election. Frankly more taxes do not create more new Jobs. All more taxes do is to drive jobs away from the USA.
You letter stated that you wanted bipartisan cooperation between the parties, If that's really true you need to tell speaker Pelosi loud and clear that congress needs to return to Washington next Monday. Americans want to see a Congress that is working in Washington, instead taking a FIVE WEEK VACATION.
Best Regards,

How is drilling for more oil a hoax while inflating yur tires is a solution? How about this:
The republicans want to open up drilling. If they are correct, and additional oil will find its way to the market, then the price will naturally come down. How can you accuse republicans of being in the pocket of Big Oil, when their solution would actually reduce the market price of oil, and reduce Big Oil profitability? Actually, it would make more sense that the democrats are in the pocket of Big Oil because your actions, senator, are artificially inflating the cost of oil, hence, increasing the profitability of BIG OIL.

Here’s the question I left.
For the first time in 20 years, my family had to stay very close to home for our vacation due to the price of gasoline. However, I see you have not curtailed your vacation at all. Do you not feel that your unique position carries the responsibilty to stay on the job until a satisfactory energy policy has at least had a vote?
To: kristinn; eeevil conservative
Thanks, Kristinn; I just got wind of this from eeevil conservative's BlogRadio show.
I dropped the following comment to her (doubt she'll see it!):
Courtesy of MY Daughter:
Since Ms. Pelosi will not allow the House to determine the best way to handle the oil crisis we with Oil Heat in the NorthEast are contending with, I am going to recommend that we take a FULL TAX CREDIT of the price difference between last year's cost and the coming year.
I'm sure that any shortfall will be more than made up by the increased tax income of the higher prices.
EC -- maybe you can pass that along to Congressman Shadegg and the other Nor'East Reps. ;^)
