This “EMERGENCY” should have been dealt with 2.50 per gallon ago.
I'm disgusted with election year panderers, who act like this problem has just cropped up.
Don't accuse me of rolling over on this issue, that is not what I said or advocate.

Funding her family for starters.
One of my children interned with Marsha's office in D.C really opened my eyes.
She spent all of her time becoming a part of the leadership, and just ignored the constituents. Just my observation's.

Gingrich to meet with House GOP over energy protest from The Hill.com By Jackie Kucinich
Former Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) will meet with House Republicans at 10 a.m. Wednesday to discuss their continued energy protest on the House floor.
Tomorrow at 10 a.m., I will meet with those Representatives still in Washington, working to pass an energy bill that will lower gas prices, to deliver a message of encouragement on behalf of the 1.4 million Americans who have signed the Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less petition at American Solutions, Gingrich said in a post on Human Events.
He added that Republicans are winning the argument on energy.
Last month, during a meeting of the conference at the Capitol Hill Club, Gingrich urged House Republicans to keep talking about energy.
He told members that the American energy message was a winning issue for the GOP and was resonating with voters.
In early May, Gingrich posted an open letter on his website that called on House Republicans to formulate a platform of real change. Otherwise, Gingrich said, they could face electoral disaster. He later praised Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) for rolling out an aggressive agenda.

Could you be a little more specific? ...because speaking as a former constituent, I can tell you that she never ignored me, nor did she ignore others whom I know.

Here is the way I see it....now that gas is at $4 a gallon (or more as in my case) the public is finally ready to listen and accept off shore drilling.
Up until now, the dems had John Q. Public fooled with their environment garbage and this sort of action would have no support at all.
With any luck, a few dems will also lose their seat over this come election time! Oooh, a bonus!

Shoulda, coulda, woulda. Ever heard of "better late than never"? The truth is that just as it took 9-11 to wake up docile America to the threat of Islamic Terrorism, it also took $4 gas to wake enough of us up to the need for a serious energy plan. When we finally woke up and began fighting the terrorists for real, did you say "TOO LITTLE TOO LATE"?
Of course politicians like to pander in election season, but elections also serve as leverage. In my view, the GOP house is leveraging the election season. They are forcing the hand of DEMs who would prefer to pander to enviro whackos. Now those DEMs have to think hard about it, as America has woken up finally. GWB has been saying for 8 years we need an energy plan. The DEMs have obstructed, with the help of squishy GOPers. They are seizing the moment, imo, not pandering.
My rep, Scott Garrett, is participating in this and I applaud him for it. Times have changed. Just as GWB wasn't "pandering" by launching the war on terror, the Congress is not pandering now. They are responding to a whole new ballgame on the ground.

But, why has it taken them so long to FINALLY grow a spine and draw a line in the sand? Why have only a handful of House Republicans joined this fight instead of ALL House Republicans??
The fact still remains that, until extreme heat and pressure are put on Nancy and the Dems by the DBM AND the WH, Nance isn’t coming back to town and the Congress isn’t going back into session to address this issue.
IMO, that’s a GOOD thing. In a strange way, it throws MORE light on the fact that the do-nothing Democrats could give a rip about America and the plight of its citizens. And, unless or until Nance can’t use the ladies roon without someone slipping a note under the stall to her asking when the House will address the Republicans demand for a vote on offshore drilling, the status will remain quo.
