I can send folks the WORD file for these stickers so you folks can update them for these historic events in the House.

Hey e,

Three videos I found so far:

http://qik.com/video/147257 - Congressman John Carter of Texas explains the reasons why Speaker Nancy Pelosi has left House Republicans no choice but to filibuster to protest her refusal to allow a floor vote on a bill to drill here and drill now in America.

Hmmmm. Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Looks like you’ve missed seeing three of the best states. The “Oil Patch” of the U.S.

True. I once had a layover at Dallas Airport, but I don't count that. I hope to see the remaining 5 states eventually. I'd LOVE to do some Texas bass fishing. One of these days.

I like Sabrin but I think he’s more effective working the way he does instead of being in elected office.

I agree. He's found his niche, imo.

I heard Newt say yesterday on Hannity's radio show that he'd be meeting with the GOP "mutiny" (my word) leaders this morning. But I didn't get the impression he'd actually be out on the floor with them.

I would LOVE to see Newt, Delay, George Allen, and Rick Santorum all go to the Capitol steps.

House Republicans Continue Vacation Protest

"House Democrats are not just hearing about offshore drilling from Republicans who have taken over the House floor for a recess revolt; the conservative advocacy group Freedom’s Watch is going up with radio and TV advertisements against Democratic candidates in a dozen races around the country.

The ads, scheduled to be aired beginning Wednesday against incumbents seeking re-election and Democrats vying for open seats, echo the theme Republicans are sounding on the floor: Democrats left town for August without allowing a vote on lifting a ban on offshore oil drilling.

“No to offshore drilling. Yes to a vacation for Congress,” said the script for a television commercial set to run in the district of Representative Nancy Boyda, a freshman Democrat from Kansas. The ads are mainly radio spots and the group would not reveal the amount it was spending on them. Besides Kansas, another television ad will run in Houston while radio commercials will be heard in districts in Louisiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Missouri, Ohio, Idaho, New Mexico and New York.".......

Hensarling

Hunter

King, S.

Lewis, R.

McCrery

We should have a link to get updated names and numbers for these threads, IMHO.

I sent this message to my Senators (Alexander and Corker) and Congressman (Blackburn) about my message to the President:
*********************
I have sent the following message to the President. I hope that you will join me in supporting the actions described, and do everything in your power to make it all happen.

*********************

Dear Mr. President,

You are being buffaloed by a woman with no concept of her duties into failing to do YOUR duty. Your “new tone” has been a total failure, no matter your good intentions and dogged efforts to make it work. Your enemies - decidedly not “adversaries” or “opponents”, both of which imply a measure of fairness and sportsmanship - have interpreted your forbearance as ignorance and your civility as weakness. They have used both as opportunities to aggrandize themselves and diminish you, your principles, your party, and your colleagues. Continuing this folly is hazardous to our Country, and YOU must gather the personal courage to deal with the challenges you have ignored to this point.

IMMEDIATELY convene both houses of Congress to address the specific issue of domestic energy production.

DEMAND - publicly, loudly, and repeatedly - that both bodies directly address this issue, alone, immediately, and directly.

INFORM them that if they fail to act, and resume their obfuscation and delaying tactics, that you will keep them in session until their replacements convene on inauguration day, no matter how many quorum calls and new Presidential calls to convene are required for the purpose. Tell your Congressional “leadership” that the convenient fictions of gentlemanly filibuster and and pro forma argumentation to empty chambers must be put aside while the PEOPLE’s business is handled to THEIR satisfaction, not the convenience of the poseurs in charge. What are they going to do - attempt to impeach you for performing your Constitutional duties? Question your intelligence, sanity, or courage? Call you names? Mr. President, you have already demonstrated that you absorb such abuse far beyond any reasonable level. Make it be for action, not inaction!
