Ever time they call for a donation I tell them why.
He is a real down to earth guy. He was a speaker at CAPC one year. and sat in the audience after it was over. Matter of fact he sat at the same table I was sitting at.
We chatted about how the party treated him during that election. I'm glad he knew that the conservatives in the party were solid behind him.
I just tracked a recent five minute stretch of the petition (yes, I have no life). 15, 9, 11, 34 and 17 signatures, for a total of 86. About 17/minute. Which, if it holds, would give us 1,020/hour.
Lol! Your ire with Ms. Power-hungry Pelosi is very clear.
I still think it’s an excellent idea to send a donation to the GOP candidate who’s running against her.
And would that ever be a great thing!
I met Bret a couple of times when he was running for guv. I was on our borough council at the time. Very nice guy, low-key but full of ideas and how to implement them. It was a disgrace how the state Republicans abandoned him for that race. Look what we got instead, and we're still feeling the negative effects.
I know the House does not have the cameras on, but I turned on c-Span anyway. President Bush is speaking live.
BTW, if you place the sticker on your shirt a couple of times, it weakens the glue on the back, making it easier to remove if need be.
“....have you heard it mentioned on any conservative talk shows?”
No....but then I was pretty busy almost all day yesterday and have to get going soon here. ;-/
Has anyone emailed any of the conservative talk-radio shows to ask for help in promoting the petition?
I like Sabrin but I think he’s more effective working the way he does instead of being in elected office. I met him too during that wild primary season when everyone and their brother was running for senate. Just happened to talk to him at one of our Republican Club meetings, and the topic turned to abortion... I told him we’re killing our children just because they’re inconvenient. He agreed and gave me a big hug!
Hmmmm. Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Looks like you’ve missed seeing three of the best states. The “Oil Patch” of the U.S.
LOL
Thank you for that tip! I am laughing because I would be the one to lose it after having stuck and unstuck it too many times.
There is also a good site called Stuck on Stupid. :D
Cheers,
sl
I hope he says something about this. Something like, “Blame for Americans having to pay high gas prices should be laid at the feet of the democrat party because the democrat controlled House refuses to debate or vote on fixing the crisis.”
I can dream.
I agree with you about this actually getting anything done now, but it is a good rallying cry to the public if the dem MSM will talk about it. One poster said that GW has been asking for an energy plan for 8 years, but why couldn’t the plan pass when the GOP had control of the house? This rebellion reminds me of when the Flyers went to the Stanley Cup finals and all the people who never watch the regular games jumped on board, like me, but I did come to love hockey more than any other sport (except anything with horses). So even though the house might not reconvene, it may change the minds of people who are unaware of the consequences of not utilizing our natural resources with environmental controls attached. I didn’t know until last month that clear cutting had been outlawed 20 years ago! So just like the abortion industry keeping the whole truth about the development of the unborn’s heart beating at 18 days, the environmentalists will not teach the public about the technological advances used to protect the planet while drilling or harvesting any other resource.
There is an opinion that parties in free countries are useful checks upon the administration of the government and serve to keep alive the spirit of liberty. This within certain limits is probably true; and in governments of a monarchical cast, patriotism may look with indulgence, if not with favor, upon the spirit of party. But in those of the popular character, in governments purely elective, it is a spirit not to be encouraged. From their natural tendency, it is certain there will always be enough of that spirit for every salutary purpose. And there being constant danger of excess, the effort ought to be by force of public opinion, to mitigate and assuage it. A fire not to be quenched, it demands a uniform vigilance to prevent its bursting into a flame, lest, instead of warming, it should consume.Washington's Farewell Address 1796

Lol! One of the people I sent this to is a true conservative in charge of the email list for my old Catholic high school graduating class. MANY of those people are also conservatives and she’s sending it to all of them! ;-))
If the government ever nationalizes health care, we may all want to grow our own apple orchards.
Congress was designed with the ability to block legislation. Many times, this is a good thing. This is an example in which it was not.
Thanks for posting. Worth another BUMP!
