I noticed the thing with the names too. It’s all the “cool” names now. I’m thinking of names like Parker, Kayla, Alexa, etc. I get tired of it. Just name your kid a regular name!! Sorry - pet peeve.

“Cameron” really gets on my nerves, particularly since it means “shrimp” in Spanish.

Like so much that went wrong in American society, the new style of loutish self-dramatization began in the 1960s.You are correct sir! As for me, I've got the loutish thing down pat, but my self-dramatization needs work.

I am not a big fan of Hunter for a boy’s name. I always wanted to know if people would name a daughter Gatherer.

Football players suffer after making a tackle now.

"As for me, I've got the loutish thing down pat, but my self-dramatization needs work." Maybe we could make a team. I'm pretty good with the self-dramatization, but I don't lout very well.

Would that we could arrange it so that Thomas Sowell would live forever.

This is right on the money.
My old High School football coach, who later coached the Central Michigan University team to the national championship, told us that he would bench anyone who celebrated after scoring or intercepting or such.
He said it was expected of us to make good plays or be in the end zone with the ball and thus we should not be celebrating something that was expected of us.

Sounds like he’s from the old school. I still remember my HS football coaches drumming into our heads we’re a team, there’s no room for prima donnas.
