Killer says he's too fat to safely execute

A death row inmate scheduled for execution in October says he's so fat that Ohio executioners would have trouble finding his veins and that his weight could diminish the effectiveness of one of the lethal injection drugs.
Lawyers for Richard Cooey argue in a federal lawsuit that Cooey had poor veins when he faced execution five years ago and that the problem has been worsened by weight gain.

Heath also says Cooey's weight, combined with the potential drug resistance, increases the risk he would not be properly anesthetized. You know, I'm not too worried about his comfort just before he dies for murdering two innocent people.

Cooey, 41, was sentenced to die for raping and murdering two female University of Akron students in 1986. So where were the lawyers to petition for mercy for these poor girls?

EXCELLENT point!
Of course, Terri Schiavo had the cold, callous, selfish NERVE to interfere with her then husband's right to marry somebody else AND to suck a lot of money into her care, whereas this guy just raped and murdered. Which is more deserving of being starved to death, the innocent sick one, or the murderer? WHY do I always get the hard questions?
