We who obsess over universal health coverage may soon confront a startling development: The only candidate on a major-party presidential ticket to have proposed and implemented a universal plan could well be a Republican. I speak of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, now high on the list of John McCain's possible running mates.

CON-MAN to Pepperhead:
Would you like some intelligence to go with your stupid remark?
Here is some intelligence for you.
We have NEVER seen one of your Romney SPAM threads
which is lacking a RomneyBOT playing the Mormon-card
or is lacking an attack on a FReeper or Sen. McCain.
[from "Mitt Romney as Tarantino's Superman", New Republic]:
"Whereas most superheroes' secret identities (Bruce Wayne, Peter Parker) are their true identities
--the people they were before their parents were murdered or they were bitten by radioactive spiders
or exposed to gamma rays or what have you--Superman was born Superman.
It's Clark Kent that is the invented alias, the pose, the "costume."
And in the way Superman plays Kent--weak, self-doubting, cowardly--
we can see what he thinks of the human race overall.
It occurred to me that the same is true of Mitt Romney's desperate,
if never terribly persuasive, impersonation of a conservative Republican."

Well if I did want some more to go with my remark it would have to come from someone other than you because you have none.

Here's a little clue for you: you lose if you think you can debate into irrelevant what you know is wrong; so when you try to dismiss Mitt Romney’s pro-choice record you lose with any true pro-life conservative. Now, you may believe there are lots of pro-choice conservatives, but that is not the reason you feel so uncomfortable trying to dismiss Romney's pro-choice record now is it!

Governor Romney was presented with legislation concerning life issues on several occasions from the 85% majority Democrat Legislature in Massachusetts. In every instance he took the pro-life position by vetoing bills or lobbying for the pro-life approach.

McCain should "Pick Mitt" for VP!
Yes, one ultra liberal for another... that's the ticket. I think the GOP is about to find out what running these ultra-liberals is going to do to their long term viability.
The only chance the GOP has this year is to find a candidate other than McCain... McCain/Romney is as sure a loser as McCain and anyone else.
Hussein is easy to beat with any true conservative. With McCain as the candidate, Hussein is a sure bet.

Could it possibly be the same road I drove from somewhere at a top of a mountain down to Santa Barbara? Signs kept telling me to turn around but I didn’t. I came out after a couple of hours with cameras all over. I drove on and found a highway. I believe it was Reagans Ranch. (I had military markings on the car but I doubt they cared)

That is what I am talking about. Why can’t Romney supporters see this? The problem is he can’t run from his past. Romney was happy to play liberal to get elected. Now he is acting like a conservative. He could be a real conservative or like before it could just be another act. We don’t know for sure. That is the problem with him. Romeny is a attractive guy and he would likely do well in any debate. But I still think there is other candidates out there that are more authentic and don’t carry the baggage he does. It is just too bad people don’t see that and still want him on the ticket with our other liberal sympathizer.

BREAKING- ROMNEY VP PICK I am writing this in conjunction with Kavon, but according to several sources, Romney is the VP pick. Remember who broke this story first. by Jason Bonham 07/22/08 @ 2:57 pm. Hogwash.
Jason Bonham is a Romneybot of the highest order. He used to be a freeper but was banned. I believe he is a paid Romney shill.

You’re so serious and earnest that you are almost funny. Fine, just don’t foist your extremist views off on others who aren’t quite as fanatical as you are. You want to believe that Romney could never change his opinion on a topic and become politically pro-life, as he always was in his personal life, hence 5 sons and multiple grandchildren in his family, and that’s that. Fine. I think your position is not Christian at all. You obviously do not believe in redemption and forgiveness. I smell a Mormon hater somewhere on this post, and it ain’t me. I think that is what is at the root of this evil. If the shoe fits,....
