“Here’s a little clue for you: you lose if you think you can debate into irrelevant what you know is wrong; so when you try to dismiss Mitt Romney’s pro-choice record you lose with any true pro-life conservative. Now, you may believe there are lots of pro-choice conservatives, but that is not the reason you feel so uncomfortable trying to dismiss Romney’s pro-choice record now is it!”

You’re so serious and earnest that you are almost funny. Fine, just don’t foist your extremist views off on others who aren’t quite as fanatical as you are. You want to believe that Romney could never change his opinion on a topic and become politically pro-life, as he always was in his personal life, hence 5 sons and multiple grandchildren in his family, and that’s that. Fine. I think your position is not Christian at all. You obviously do not believe in redemption and forgiveness. I smell a Mormon hater somewhere on this post, and it ain’t me. I think that is what is at the root of this evil. If the shoe fits,....

This is what the Romney sycophancy has sunk to these days. This is the bait and switch/misdirection ploy I've been referring to. The poster cannot stand to have Romney's liberalism exposed so she resorts to playing the 'you hate mormons', 'you hate Mitt', and the ultimate 'you're no Christian if you reject a Mormon' cards.

At first this strategy was somewhat effective with those unfamiliar with Mitt Romney's liberal history and duplicitous rhetoric. But gradually the repeated use of these cards has exposed them as just words, pretend conservatism and full-on blind sycophancy.

I wonder, will FR ever settle back down into previous transparent conservatism mode? Will the election cycle ever end?
