Definitely. I remember driving down the street from where I lived and seeing the apartment building that went from a 3 story to a 2 story. Pretty scary. My sister told me later about a friend of hers who lived in the lower story of that apartment building. That morning her husband got up as usual to leave for work at about 4am and for some reason the whole family (their 3 or 4 kids) decided to all walk him out to his car and say goodbye. They were in the parking lot when the earthquake hit and the building collapsed on their apartment. I tend to believe God had a hand in that. ;)
I'm glad to hear nothing bad is coming of THIS earthquake, today.

Oh, ok, I don’t know street names in your neck of the woods.
KFI is going on and on about how it felt on all the various floors of their building.. their new, built-for-swaying-in-earthquakes building. Phones aren’t working right, tho

Northridge 94 (6.9) survivor here. You all in LA stay safe! I remember it well -- the night the Devil had a nightmare. Compared to that, here in Camarillo today's seemed like one of the big Northridge aftershocks. It lasted a long time, 20-30 seconds, and seemed to grow in intensity before tapering off. Scared the hell out of the cat, and I found myself heading toward the back yard when it stopped!

6.07 would be 90 times stronger than this 5.8 — each point is 10 times stronger than the 1/10 of a point below.

Was he lite on his loafers? lol ;>
The 1989 biggie in SF slammed me hard against a wall, cracks along all outer walls. It hit like a bomb, and then rumbled like crazy. Worst was the aftershocks - I was sleeping with my newborn son on a hideway couch in the family room so as not to wake everyone, and the springs were so wild on that thing, I was more jarred and rattled than from any quake I've experienced in two countries. 2nd worst? 33rd flr Spear Street Tower, SF. People were puking, we were that high up and the swaying went on forever in that Seismologically Sensitive and Erected Building.....

Smack in the middle of lots and lots of people. Prayers to the folks in that area. Just talked to family in Chino Hills. No big. They rocked and rolled. But it doesn't sound like there was any major property damage. From what I see, they were sitting right on top of it. Now, they are up in the hills a bit and hills don't shake as much as the valleys. But it doesn't sound like this is anything like the Northridge quake or Loma Pietra.

shep needs a midol and a white wine spritzer today to calm his nerves - he was an idiot during Katrina
