The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that Barack Obamas Berlin bounce is gone. Obama now attracts 44% of the vote while John McCain earns 42%. When "leaners" are included, its Obama 47% and McCain 46%. Compared to a week ago, Obama has gained a single percentage point (see recent daily results).
However, the weeks polling showed a roller-coaster of opinion surrounding Obamas big speech. The event in Berlin was well-covered and initial reviews on the speech were positive. Polling on Thursday and Friday nights was very strong for the Democrat, leading to a six-point advantage in our Saturday morning release. However, polling for the past three days shows no trace of a bounce. The data looks very similar to results from the period preceding the speech and, with fourteen weeks to go, the race for the White House is a toss-up. Tracking Polls are released at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time each day.
Obama earns the vote from 78% of Democrats, McCain is supported by 86% of Republicans, and unaffiliated voters are evenly divided. McCain leads 50% to 44% among White voters and 51% to 43% among men. Obama leads 51% to 42% among women and 92% to 5% among African-Americans (see other recent demographic highlights).
Obama is viewed favorably by 56% of voters, McCain by 54%. Other key stats of Election 2008 are updated daily at Obama-McCain: By the Numbers.
As Vice Presidential rumors swirl about Tim Kaine, 20% of voters nationwide have a favorable opinion of the Virginia Governor. Another 20% have an unfavorable view while most have no opinion. John Edwards and Hillary Clinton have the highest favorable among the rumored running mate prospects. On the GOP side, Huckabee, Lieberman, and Romney are each viewed favorably by more than 40% of voters.

“no one in the idiot media thinks its newsworthy to report the tactic”
No...can’t be...Especially not the New York Slimes. /s/
Its all over . McCain is president. Obama should be ahead by 12 to 15 points now. We are seening a perfect example of the Bradley effect
Yep, that’s what worries me too.
If you read the full article on electoral vote.com you will find that the comments are pure Democrat.
Just in case any of you reluctant McCain voters think this gets you off the hook, we need to get a lot more votes to make certain that this young vampire gets a branch of holly thru his heart.
I won’t believe we won until they put out the fires in East LA.
Say what?
Say what?
That’s not the Rasmussen poll Barry Knew !!!!
It's not surprising at all given the adoration of the media for Obama. What is surprising is that it is so close. It seems Obama ought to be up double digits at the minimum. My take is he peaked way to soon and the more we learn about what little there really is to the guy the worse off he will be.
Slam dunk? I could not disagree any more. The spectre of Clinton back in the WH would be the single most galvanizing moment in political history, and not for the left.
....but he reminds 60% of Dilbert's boss! Geez, I hope BO does this!
The Bradley Effect would take place in the voting booth where previous self proclaimed supporters of Obama would vote their TRUE feelings, unafraid of being called racist for saying they won't for him. Since he is almost dead even in the polling despite the massive press coverage, it would appear Obama is heading for a defeat of truly monumental, McGovern like proportions.
LOL!
I'm not sure it's comparable. McCain is polling better in CA and NY than Bush. So what. No way he wins those states but it makes his national numbers look good. But it means he's polling worse than Bush in battleground states. That's why McCain is losing the electoral college map right now. The increased support in NY and CA is worthless.
I can’t wait for these daily polls to come out for the next 3 months!! /s
Maybe this 51% of women think Obama will summons the Gas Fairy and magically fill up their Soccer Mommy SUVs free of charge?
Say people are stupid. John Edwards and Hillary Clinton are names they've heard, names that landed on them like rain on turkeys.
Oh glory days! I cant wait to see all the Lib/Dem hysterical cry babies come November 4-5, 2008!
Can’t wait for the crying jags like the performance Kerry and his sweetie Edwards gave when they lost!...More popcorn please!....
“It’s not surprising given the adoration of the media”...Good point. They were completely Obasmic over the guy — maybe people are beginning to see how scarey he really is. I’ll keep praying... “deliver us from EVIL”.
