Why 4 of the Veterans are running in the Democrat party is a mystery to me.

Could also be that the PR spin is to give the Dimwits credibility which is a farce to begin with; but it is usually a farce to begin with when the Dimwits are involved.

4 other Dem military vets also were defeated in the primaries. We think of the Dem party as the party of left-wing loons because they stand out the most. However, it is a diverse party that loosely holds many of it's members. Zell Miller is a Democrat, Joe Leibermann was. Many "blue dog" Dems like Heath Shuler seem a lot more conservative than some people claiming membership in the GOP.
I don't know if some of these military vets running for office are flaming liberals, more moderate centrists, or born into the Dem family. Probably a mix. That goofball from Ohio who ran against Jean Schmidt and then for the senate was an ambulance chasing lawyer in real life outside the reserves. There are all types in an institution as large as the military.

And I’d remind you that Larry McDonald — perhaps the ultimate Blue Dog — was a Democrat as that was, at the time, the only way he could get elected in the Deep South.
His record is far better than ANY Republican then or now.
To: MovementConservative
And of course, because the majority of the congressional districts have been so gerrymandered that if you live in a democrat district and expect to get elected, it would probably be difficult to win running as an “R”...so the best we can hope for is that the Veterans who are running as D's and get elected are Blue Dog Democrats.

We have a guy running for Oklahoma State House that literally wrapped himself in the American flag at our County Convention. This week it came out that both times he was to be deployed he filed for conscientious objector status. Once you submit a CO letter here, you cannot be deployed and he did it twice.
He is a Republican that I am ashamed is in our party. He wanted a college education from the Guard but didn’t want to fulfill his duty by being deployed. Both CO applications were turned down but this lowlife has the nerve to say he was one of the few veterans running when two others he was running against served — one of them was in Vietnam.
He also didn’t pay his meal bill and was arrested while he was on active duty. He made the Guard people so mad they actually went to our local paper with the facts.
Would tell anyone to look very closely at the Dem’s records. Now I will do it for Republicans as well after this experience.

Why 4 of the Veterans are running in the Democrat party is a mystery to me. I will always honor veterans for their service. Always. When they run for office, I look at their principles. Some vets really suck when it comes to their principles (you wonder how they ever ended up in military service in the first place). John Francois Kerry comes to mind, as does a famous American traitor (and FWIW multiple foreign dictators).
Just because you served then, doesn't mean I have to vote for you now...

The dim’s go out and actively recruit them. And in reality it isn’t that hard to find a whiny liberal in any barrack. A SFC I was friends with was a whiny liberal. He actually pissed me off during 9/11 when we were discussing if we were going to get deployed and he cried about how Bush was probably behind it and that we should mark his words that we will go after Saddam. Well he was right about the Saddam part but his reasoning was way off.

You're (OK --
they're) missing a couple in Pennsylvania:
Bill Russell -- running against scummy Jack Murtha
Craig Williams -- running against fired Admiral Sestak that the Clinton machine bought and paid for in PA-7
Russell is still on active duty, and can't campaign until after August 1st; Williams is campaigning now.

I am in the same boat. The fact that they protected my 6 is appreciation enough.
BUT I have the right to NOT vote for them. It comes down to principles and character. If it were just for being a vet, we would;ve voted for John F Kerry.

That is really something, getting over 1100 online donations this week. Michelle’s article was great but had no idea it would generate that. Fantastic!

Yep, Democrats got the shaft from recruit retired National Guard Tim Walz, D-Mn, he ran against the war, then ended up coming to his senses and voting to fund the Troops.

The complete and utter shame I feel over jack murtha is comparable to the pride I feel for the Haditha and Hamdania Marines.

The complete and utter shame I feel over jack murthaI feel no shame, only disgust and loathing. Remember, murtha is an EX-Marine, deserving of nothing from you other than ostracism and ridicule. At least that's the way I see it. I yet long for the day when you can bite his buttons off, Ma.
