I kinda figured you were just another Bush worshiping, party groupie, after your name calling tantrum. Then I looked at your profile, and it left absolutely no doubt.

Congress must still lift its own legislative ban before offshore drilling can happen. If someone else hasn't noted this alreadly, I believe the Congressional ban EXPIRES this year, September, I beleive. That's the beauty of this. Congress won't have to take action to lift the ban, they'll have to do so to KEEP it in place. They'll have to vote AGAINST increased oil production before the election.

This is one of those “put up or shut up” moments, and IMHO, the timing is perfectly calculated.

TRUE OR FALSE?
I understood that while the crude oil supply is critical, our lack of refining capacity was the bigger issue and that environmental regulations and NIMBY attitudes would likely keep new refineries from coming on-line, negating gains of increased crude supply. Or is that an urban legend perpetuated by the Left?

"I dont think any drilling can take place unless Congress also lifts the ban."The Congressional Ban on offshore oil drilling expires at the end of September.
Might as well start sending in the thumpers to begin the seismic surveys because WE'RE GOING TO BE DRILLING!

When did Bush find his b*lls? We need to wait for the details before assuming that he did.
The devil is in the details. And based on the BS promises we have been getting on border security for years, I am going to assume this is political grandstanding until we see the details proving it's not.
When I see a rig going in, then I'll believe the ban is lifted.
Politicians are like lying alcoholic spouses. Wait for proof.

California reporter on FNC right now -- putting out the facts! 63% of oil in the ocean is from natural seepage, bar charts showing decline in commercial oil spills over the last couple of decades, etc.
Nice to see the FACTS being broadcast for a change!
